    Cue Sticks Pool Trick Shot
    by Eric @ 25, Aug 2006

    Video Rating(1=worst, 5=best): 4/5

This is one of my favorite trick shots because the only thing needed as props is extra cue sticks. The trick is not very hard, it is mainly a matter of getting the right speed.

    Cue Sticks Pool Trick Shot

Today I tried this shot at the Corner Pocket pool hall. There is a reason why Chumpchange says it is easy, all you have to do is line up the sticks and hit the ball at the right speed.

I hit the ball too hard my first time and it went up the sticks and off the table, it was a little bit embarassing. After that I never hit it too hard again. There was one attempt that was too soft (the ball climbed part way up and then came down before reaching the corner). All my other attempts were at the right speed. The first shot at the right speed didn't land in the side pocket because the sticks were a little bit off.

Once I adjusted the sticks the shot was really easy. I can see why the Byrne Trick Shots book has a lot of variations (once you do the basic shot there are a lot of options in terms of what happens before the ball rolls up the sticks). The variations in the book include The Central cluster railroad shot on page 21, The railroad switchyard shot on page 22, The Single-track switchyard shot on page 23 and the Myron Zownir's second effort shot on page 24.
