    Ok guys

Here it is. Hope you like it the trick list is as follows.

Wind Spin - Seen on videos I know its on xb
1 hand revolution false - Brian Tudor
1 hand revolution III - Brian Tudor
Ragnarok - Kevin @ Mr Redux
Various springs including upside down and overhead springs
Armspreads and 3 Catches, i don't know the names i just watched net videos.
Fan Throw - I have seen devo do this but his is very very fast mine is supposed to be a higher throw and therefore slower
Fan Flip - this is just something i've been playing around with.
Giant Fan Twirl - Jerry all the way
Heaven Display - I have done it quicker before but i still think its cool. This is De'Vos move.

i've attached a horrible quality 2mb file for all you dial-uppers. If possible check the other one out.

Well hoped you like it. sorry about the quality, MY DV cam is fucked. I think a few things could be better but works been mad a nd i filmed it in about 30 mins so i'm quite happy.

Nice vid man I enjoyed it

Couple of quick questions...what were with your armspreads? Why didn't you start those on your hands so you could do a turnover on the same hand? Don't get into a bad habit now...once you get into harder material like a full turnover with same hand catch or double armspreads, you are going to need to start those on your hands

Were you using a full deck on the springs? It looked like you were using half a deck. IMO I find that to be more difficult to spring, and I also thing it takes away from the performance as well. The springs are all smaller and shorter because there are less cards

Overall fun entry and glad you took the time to put that together for us. Also, gotta love the Beverly Hills Cop theme Very Happy

    Marp

Posted by Maverick on August 31, 2005 at 10:25

yea man i agree with marp, but also i used to do the same exact thing, spread the cards only on you forearm because they wouldn't spread any good near the palm part and or be tough to balance. So like marp said, dont get in the bad habit of doing that

i liked the spinning wind elemental, that was pretty coool, i also liked the balancing fan on another fan, springs could use a little work
hope you dont think anything of my criticism
    i liked the vid tho

PS. Kevin Ho is a good online friend of mine, i was surprised you used ragnarok- i started to laugh

Nice vid, man. Here's some of my thoughts:

Wind elemental: We don't see too many vids of these. Not my cup of tea, but you seem to perform this well.

Cuts: Executed nice and clean. Not very fast though. But smoothness is the most important thing.

Springs: The basic cardspring was decent. Distance will improve with time. Your U-spring (not sure what the proper name is) didn't have any distance. Your upside down spring was small too. I think you actually performed your springs better on your last video. We didn't see you finish your overhead spring, which leads me to believe that you dropped cards at the end. This would've been better had you shown it from start to finish. I agree w/Marp in that it looks like you didn't use a full deck of cards.

Armspreads: Your basic armspread catches were good. As noted already, I think you should start the "spread" at the base of your fingers. This will make your armspreads much longer and will look more impressive. I know many people who have a hard time spreading the cards smoothly from this point. I'd be glad to help anyone with their armspreads. Just PM me.

Fans: This is your strong point, I think. The giant fan looked awesome, but again it looks like you didn't use a full deck. You will - without a doubt - get blasted by some people for showing the heaven display. I personally have no problem with it, but some people think that this move should not be shown on video to protect the "underground nature" of this move blah blah blah.... whatever. Rolling Eyes

    Nice selection of music.

Posted by jonjo on August 31, 2005 at 11:39

    Thanks for the comments guys.

I have to sya i agree with all of them.

I feel that this wasn'tmy best amaterial, but my time was limited as it is busy season at work. I'm not really expecting to win but i wanted to get a video in.

As for the Decks I'll have to check, I thought the Red Circle Backs (Fans and springs) was full but maybe not.

I haven't been practicing for a while nad I think it shows. Anyways. Glad someone liked it.

As for Heaven: I love this display and as for it being underground they can suck my balls. The same people who say its an underground move say De'VO is a millionaire who sold 50,000 DVD's and shit. Its a marketed effect and therefore fair game imo.

    Good video dude.
I noticed the same thing on the springs as well...actually I thought the armspread decks looked a little thin as well.

Work on getting those springs bigger.
Start the armspreads on the hands like Marp mentioned.
And build that heaven display a little quicker!!

Posted by Maverick on August 31, 2005 at 15:07

there was a heaven display in your vid which one was it?
    NVM EDIT

    lol someone doesn't have CTG...

I'm not sure you are supposed to do the Heaven Display...I think its supposed to be kept "underground", thats why its not in the CTG trailer

    C'mon, Marp, screw that shit.
If he didn't do it then I would have. I will do the CTG in a vid in the near future as well.

BTW Mav...the heaven display is the fan balanced on the fan.

Unfortunatelly we have to remove this video from the public forums. I'm really sorry for this Sad

I have saved it on my harddrive so I will judge even your Heaven display Smile. If you want to upload the verion without the Heaven display you can of course do it.

    Thanks for understanding

I know this may be a dumb question but i'm not real up on the card flourishes/xcm, I love watching them though. But why is a heaven display such a big deal?

It's not...it's not even that spectacular of a move.

Oh, and by the way....I have seen this move done long before devo came around.
I have some flourish books dated probably before he was born that has this move in it.

Yep, actually it is called 'Dueling Fans' and was created near the turn of the century by fellow from Poland named Ivan Zenoskey.

    Posted by Scooter77 on September 01, 2005 at 22:59

What I meant was why is the video being taken down and having to be edited because of this one move?

Posted by turkeysub on September 01, 2005 at 23:16

probablu because devo contacted the admin of these boards and said some cramity shit like i hope this doesnt end up in a lawsuit

    cough cough what an $#^$#^$%

Posted by marpenothi on September 02, 2005 at 09:32

Cradle to Grave teaches the heaven display. It's supposed to be an "underground" move, meaning that it can not be shown publicly otherwise people might figure it out and not need to buy CTG to learn it...

Posted by Sreename on September 02, 2005 at 09:36

But inst almost every move to be learned by a vid? if you watch a vid close enough im sure you can pretty much figure out every move, heck thats how i learned msot of mine Very Happy

    Sreen Cool

Posted by marpenothi on September 02, 2005 at 09:37

I'm not saying I agree with it...I just stated the reason Shadow was probably told to take it down

Posted by Sreename on September 02, 2005 at 09:38

Yeah I know, it wasnt an attack, just saying I find it stupid that Shadow has to take it doen, maybe we should take some down too, people that is Wink

    Sreen Cool

If someone wants to keep a flourish (heaven display) underground, then releasing an instructional dvd to the public is NOT the way to do it. The heaven display is no different than any other flourish. I can think of many, many flourishes that are much better too, so I don't know why it's such a big secret anyway.

You cannot release a dvd to the public and expect people not to leak material in it. That's just ridiculous. It doesn't make any sense that De'vo wants to keep moves "underground" but yet he claims he came to America to spread the word of XCM to as many people as possible.

Why do people create flourishes but don't want to share them with other people? Why are people such greedy bastards?

I give credit to Jonjo for having the balls to put this in his vid. He probably knew it would cause a big (unnecessary) stink.

Posted by jonjo on September 02, 2005 at 10:21

    Thanks Dead

In a small way you're right, despite what chip master says I love this move and think its great, anyone I kno who deal with cards just can't beleive its happening a but like to cobra, my brother on the other hand things springs are the greatest thing ever.

I knew someone would moan about it but who gives a rats ass. De'Vo can suck my balls, don't release it to the public to earn money if its underground.

Anyway most of you saw it before it was taken down and Shadow is gonna judge it, not that I'm liekly to win anything anyway.

TOLD to take it down!!!...Well, if that was the case then Shadow should have TOLD devo to suck his balls.

Actually, I do like the move...just dont like devo....even though he is not the originator of this move anyway.
And your right about the springs...you can do the hardest card flourish and then someone always says...can you do that spring thing?? Rolling Eyes
