These are my entries in very low quality. I emailed 21ace the 5mb vids of both chips and cards, but sometimes my email fails and I want to make sure I get entered in.

Video quality is low...if anyone wants to see a higher quality (I have a 5mb and a 30 mb) PM me and I'll get it to you somehow.

Heres my entries, in low vid quality

Ok now here's some documentation for my card video, for anyone wanting to know the origin of the moves or where to learn them. My actual vid to be judged is from :12 to 1:42, so thats 1:30.

    1. First move is the Molecule Cut, which can be learned from The System, by Dan and Dave Buck www.dananddave.com This is personally my favorite cut, and it is false as well.

    2. Shapeshifter, taught in many places. I know for sure that this move is sold on DVD at Ellusionist Ellusionist.com" target="_blank">www.Ellusionist.com

    3. Mary Jane, also taught on The System.

    4. T.C.T.C.S.A., taught on The System.

    5. This is an ace production that utilizes the molecule cut. This production can be found on the Pasteboards Animations extra found on The System.

    6. Flipback vanish, which is taught on De'vo's Cradle to Grave. This DVD is awesome and teaches some awesome underground XCM. This can be found at the Superhandz and Handlordz store, at www.xtremehandz.com De'vo's website is www.handlordz.com and the Superhandz page is Superhandz.com" target="_blank">www.Superhandz.com

    7. The Leno Cut. This is a seven packet false cut, and utilizes the chin (hence the name Leno Cut). This is taught on The System.

    8. Tudor Cut. This can be found on Brian Tudor's DVD, Generation X.

    9. The Werm, taught on The System.

    10. Pirouette Flourish, or card spin. This is taught on Oz Pearlman's Stealing Pips, found at www.penguinmagic.com It is also taught in the Card College book series.

    11. This is a false cut, which is a variation I made off of the Jammin' Cut in Showoff with Cards.

    12. This is Brian Tudor's One hand Revolution cut, taught in Generation X.

    13. Brian Tudors One hand Revolution Three cut, taught in Generation X.

    14. One handed cut taught in Showoff with Cards, not sure of exact name.

    15. An Index finger fan, taught in various places. Kind of a pressure fan but I used my index to spread.

    16. One handed fan close.

    17. Ribbon spread, taught right here on 21ace.com

Hope that gives you a better sense of what's taught me and what I've worked on. These moves are getting better and more smooth every day. I realized I forgot to credit Brian Tudor in my credits, so thanks to him and all of the work he has put out.

    Marpenothi

EDIT: I added some links to my vids which are higher quality and may be eeasier to view...be sure to check them out Very Happy

Good card entry! I must say, that was pretty good. The speed of the false cuts were quick enough.

Overall: Good entry. Looks like it might be tied with mines, or even higher ( Sad for me)

Special Effects: Virtually none, though it doesn't need any. Kind of disliked Ahh Yeah from the CD, but everyone has their favorites.

For the display cuts, try and practice enough so you can do them a bit quicker and smoother. You also showed what loked like to be the same cut twice.

Keep working on that Flipback Vanish! Very Happy You're getting there!

Fan was a bit awkward when you showed the bottom...then again, it was low res.

    One hand cuts were decent.

I don't know much about chip tricks, but here's my two cents (cliche)

Overall: Good to me! Don't know what the real chip flourishers think.

Special Effects: Just transitions. Of course this is a contest on chips, and not movie making. Dark Dayz is one of my favorite tracks.

Liked how you went straight from the roll to the knuckle roll. Very smooth combo.

    Spread was done well.

Very fast speed for the shuffles...I don't think I could get that fast...

Ambidexteroty is pretty good. Missed a bit at one part, but you probably can do it better now.

Six chip spread was good as well.

Overall, good chip entry, and a good card entry.

(Now I'm afraid that your card entry may push me down)

    Great job Marp!

You're learning fast, within months of extended training, you will be doing the CTG stunts, flawlessly, they are beautifull.

Yes, I agree everyone has their favorites, but I dislike sybil cuts much, because to me they all look the same...(im sure its just me)

Here are some of my "irrelevent to this subject" opinions and comments:

I can freestyle a sybil cut and to a laymen which is who I perform for, can't tell the difference between one of the most advanced and one of the most basic.

Sybil should last long, and Buck Twins's sybils do...but if you make them slow, its boring after a while....if you make them fast...then all of them start looking the same. You know what im getting at?

I prefer variety in my performances, Fans, Armspreads, Cuts, SSS's, Aerial category, Deck Twirls...etc...they just add juice to your routine, and that's how a real XCM'er makes shows and can make them last as long as he wants while keeping everyone at the edge of their seat.

This is just me, my thoughts and my style.

Back to topic...great video Marp, you did very good, I expect you ranking high in the next few contests, since this was my last contest entry, I think many more will be participating.

    Keep training!

    Peace

Hey guys thanks for the awesome feedback Very Happy Means a lot to me to know I have so much support and encouragement from you guys here. It'll be interesting to see how the podium shapes out, but I truly believe everyone did their best and showed their true ability in every entry. Thats the important thing. The contest turnout was also very cool and I was happy to see that so many people took the time to contribute.

You may be underestimating yourself, you have some really nice tricks there I can't do. You have the triangle variation you showed separately on the chip forum that I thought was really cool, and I still am yet to learn the 5 chip butterfly (PM me about it?)

Well ambidexterity comes with practice. See the human brain can only focus on one thing at a time. It can truly focus, think about, and make action on one thing at a time. With that said, to do two chip tricks at once, you obviously have to first know how to do both tricks. Once you have that done, take the chip trick you want done in your left hand, and practice it while doing something else. For example, I learned how to do the chip roll, and did it while watching T.V., talking on the phone, doing hw, etc. This way it becomes second nature in a sense and you wont have to think about doing it. With your brain not having to think about doing it, you can do another chip trick in your right hand, and it will think about and perform that. Hope that helps, and let me know if you need anymore explanation.

Thanks for the great positive feedback everyone and Niiro your in depth evaluation is great Very Happy

Very nice marp. I see you got "The System." I was thinking of purchasing it. Is it worth it?

Absolutely. Teaches some of the best flourishes ever. Its awesome...I've heard of people calling it their brother. Thats the best of the best as far as I see it for flourishes...now if you want XCM, Cradle to Grave is the best. 50 bucks is kind of high, but I think its definitely worth it. Best XCM DVD you will find

    Marp,

The Chip Video is great. It looks like you're using Nexgens.
Seeing the Knuckle Roll smooth with both hands was impressive.
    The Buterfly looked good.
The way you did different tricks in Each Hand at the same time was awesome.

The Card Video is great too! Everything was fast and it flowed together well...

Note that I added links to my vids, which are at a slightly higher quality. Hopefully you can get a better picture, check 'em out Very Happy
