Alright, peoples, I know that this is what you have been waiting for!

I would like to say one thing: I never lied to anyone...check back the words that I have said, and try taking them all literally...there...the truth.

Alright here we go!

Niiro13

Moves:
Tower Opener (Leaning Tower variation) - Me
Fan twirl combo - Jerry
One Handed Fans - Jerry
Twin Fans - Jerry
Palm Back Fan - CIAPPI
My Display Cut (7 packet variation) - Me
Gearscrew Cut - Jerry
Flipbacks and Flipback Fan - De'vo
Tumble Cut - Jerry
Tri Extension - Jerry
Triple Transfer - Jerry
Running L-Cut - Jerry
LXQuad - Jerry

*Lol, that's a long list of Jerry.

Comments: First video with Tally-Hos (finally got them!)! Wow, it's been great working with the others. I haven't seen such skill from them, and I can tell that they truly have put time and dedication to this project. You know, I was the last person asked after a couple of others were, and I am glad that I was able to be in it!

Hey guys, here it is, the long-awaited 21ace project. I'd like to take this opportunity to to recognize the people who made this project possible: Niiro for doing editing and contributing his portion, Eric for allowing us to do this, Marp for including me, Shadow for support/updates, and all the rest of the members who have supported this project since August. This really was a fun project to film because we all brought the best stuff to the table that we know. I think you will agree that it is pretty cool to see how the styles of flourishes are different between the three of us. Although it was slightly delayed, I feel this project, in the end, is a success. I hope you agree after you watch the video.

Comments on Project:

I have a few confessions to make…

1) Yes, as many of you guessed, I am a part of this project. The three of us tried to throw you guys off, but my style of editing and vid presentation gave me away. Anyone who has been here at 21 for as long as I have or has seen Ryan’s vids might recognize him as well. Kevin was definitely the hardest to recognize, and as I recall, Michael Marino was thoroughly convinced Kevin was not in the project until now.

2) I came up with the idea of the project and organized it myself (It goes without saying that the project would not have been possible without Eric or Shadow). I proposed this idea to Eric, and he gave it the go-ahead. I had explained that I wanted not only for this project to reflect and showcase the talent of the artists in the vid and at 21Ace, but to contrast the styles and moves of the artists as well, each having been with 21 for different amounts of time. Each member had approximately 2 minutes to have whatever they wanted…anywhere from choosing the song played during their section, to the font they used, to the moves actually performed in the vid.

3) The Butterfinger, who is actually 2 people (who happen to be two of my best friends), found out about 21Ace after I took second in the fifth contests here. They tried to learn XCM like I did, and, well, you saw the result Sad

4) Everyone listed in my credits are the people or places that have ever helped me in card manipulation. I listed absolutely everyone I could think of, whether I like them or not.

This project has been a blast and I enjoyed the entire thing. I really learned a lot and hope the others did as well. Maybe you, as a viewer, can watch this vid and get some ideas or further your interest in cards. If anyone ever needs advice or wants to know where to learn what I’m doing, I am always willing to help and be sure to PM me.

As you all know, there was a little more trouble in getting this project posted than we anticipated. At times I feel like this is not my best work because I have learned so much and improved in the long time interval between me filming and the actual posting today...but I'm hoping I didn't let anyone down.

Post count 1000 (Great job Deadpeople, you guessed it Laughing )

I admit that I have been holding out on my posts for a while to dedicate my 1000th to this project, so I may have to pull a "Chris Ferguson Fan" in the next few days here and be the 10 most recent posts in every board.

I have some big plans coming up and I am very happy to see my improvement. It means just as much to see my close friends like Kevin, Ryan, Andrei, and Tyler continuing to progress and excel.

Thanks for taking the time to watch this, being patient, and I hope you enjoy

OK, watched the vid, LOVED the video over all, and, not to sound like a hard ass, but thuoght parts of it were slightly boring:

Ryan (rlk7): Thought your one-card productions were great, although ther were just a bit too many of them. If I remember correctly, you did a sybil or two. Work on smoothness, then speed. Not that mine are any better Razz Loved you Instant Replay/Simple Switch. The production that went from the ace of spades to the 4 8's has to be my favorite production of yours. Didn't really like the jack produciton with the Black Deck, didn't seem instant enough. Nice creativity on your part. Liked the lepaul with the bee's it's really hard to tell where one card ends and the next card begins, nice asthitecs.

Kevin (Niiro): Nice L/LX Quad sequence! Loved that part. I have some editing peeves that I'll talk to you privatly about. You never lied to me? Bullshit! I asked you if you were in the project and you said no. in those exact words. Anyway...really liked the tower opener. I have one similar, exept I don't balance, I fan and hold the box on by it's flap. Nice fan twirl, thought the deck twirl right before it could be a little faster and smoother. Nice fanning sequence overall. Thought the PBF was a little slow, and definatly could have had a better angle (unless you had seen CIAPPI's vid, you had no clue what the hell you did.) Thought the displays could have been formed a little faster. Nice flipbacks, they need a wee bit more speed, and the flipback fan could have been a little bigger. Nice, smooth tumble cut. Liked that. Same with the tri-extention and triple tansfer. The deck twirl right before the L-cut sequence could be faster, but it was nicely executed. Overall, great job.

Ryan (Marp): Nice armspreads! I've never really been fond of your openers, it's basically a box routine then you hit the flap open with your thumb, come on, I KNOW your more creative than that! But, if taht's your style, then that's your style, I guess. Nice behind the back shuffle. Good giant fan, awsome regular fans. They were HUGE. For the flipback, try to do it a little faster, and work on getting the full 180 on a flipback fan. You're almost there. Nice 1 handed cuts and deck twirl. I've already commented on your armspreads, nice, smooth, fast. The dribble wasn't too big, work on that. IM me for some tips, I've been working a lot on that recently. Nice speed What the Hell. NICE smooth 1 handed revolution. Good other cuts ater that too. Nice packet switching cobras.

Overall, I think this vid was worth the wait. Great job! Just, next time, count me in Wink .

I really enjoyed that. Congratulations to all involved.

Ten or twelve years ago I got into the fledgeling flourish movement, when being able to do the basic Syble cut was considered avant guard. Watching the video made me feel a wee bit like Henry Ford pootling along in his Model T and seeing an Aston Martin cruise by.

I know how much work and dedication goes into learning these kinds of moves, and in some bizarre, disjointed, not-entirely-appropriate, slightly paternal way I'm proud of you all - it's refeshing that in the modern age of eighteen frame cuts and nanosecond attention spans you have put the work in, and produced something darn good at the end.

To quote, or paraphrase the guest cast of Scoobie Doo: I'd still be considered good if it weren't for you pesky kids Smile

Take care, Ian

Thanks for your comments everyone, especially Ian Razz It may not seem like much or it may seem corny because its over the net, but it still means a lot.

Constructive criticism is glady accepted, such as Marino's. Lately I've been working on the anaconda, madonna 2, and wthhts cuts...so Michael my anaconda is way better now than it was in the vid, in fact, I was halfway expecting Niiro just to edit that cut out Laughing

Congratulations to the three of you – awesome job!

Rlk7: Your card productions are great, and you provided many (but not too many, in my opinion). My favorite would also have to be the ace switching to the four 8’s. That was awesome. Just to let you know, I will probably steal that move from you! The simple switch (I think that’s what it’s called) was nice too. Anyone who has seen my videos knows I’m a huge fan of aerial moves. Sybils were smooth. The LePaul spread was well executed. The only thing I would say you need to work on is your erdnase change. I can give you some tips, if you want. Everything else looked great. Good music too.

Niiro: I am not a fan of openers, to say the least. But I do have to say that’s a neat little opener you invented - nice job. Your fans are good. I’m gonna have to disagree with Michael and say that your palm-back fan was good. I don’t think anyone will have any problems seeing what’s going on there. The speed of your PBF was fine, as it fit with the speed of the rest of your routine (which focused on smoothness, not greased lightning). I love to see a good fan. I hate it when I’m watching a vid and someone makes a fan real fast, and then instantly closes it before I can see it. Pisses me off. Flipbacks were fine (again, the speed of the flipbacks fit with your routine – so extra speed wasn’t necessary). Triple transfer – I’m sorry, but I never saw the fascination with this move. Don’t take it personally, as you did perform this “Jerry” move very well. This is just one of those moves I don’t like. The spinning of the hands just always seemed unnecessary and exaggerated when there’s really nothing happening here. This excessiveness ruins an otherwise good flourish. Every time I see this move I think of a basketball player excessively wobbling his head back and forth while he’s dribbling the ball in place, thinking he’s actually faking his opponent out of his jock strap. But again, you did perform this flourish well. The gearscrew cut and running L-cut were performed smoothly. They could’ve used more speed, yes, but they were fine. The music was ok, but it definitely didn’t fit in a flourish/xcm routine. Seemed more appropriate for a campfire or church. The editing was solid. There are a few things I would’ve cleaned up, but still very good. Considering you actually had to redo this project and had many 21ace members breathing down your neck you did a great job.

Marp: When I first started lurking around 21ace a few months ago, your videos consisted of choppy cuts, ho-hum flipbacks, mediocre fans, and a disastrous flipback vanish. But since then I have watched you evolve into a more complete artist with sharp skills. One thing you have improved on is your armspreads – they’re definitely getting better. As far as your opener, I have to echo exactly what Michael said (sorry, man). Your giant fan and pressure fan pissed me off (this is a compliment) because they looked great, but you didn’t display them long enough. You need to show that shit off! The anaconda dribble looked good. All your other cuts were nice and smooth with good speed. Not many people can nail the crossed cobras w/packet switches, but you pulled it off rather easily. Musically, I’m not a fan of Sublime, but it fit nicely w/the routine.

Thanks to the three of you for a great video!

Dead...thanks for your comments Very Happy

Just to clarify, what I did was crossed cobras with packet switches, not king cobras (thats something andrei would do Laughing ).

Yeah I don't listen to Sublime as much...that is actually their only song I have in my playlist, but to find the music that I liked best with my section I played nearly every song I had over the section...basically a trial and error type of deal Confused Took me long enough, but this song just stuck with me.

LOL ... I'm an idiot. I know what the difference is between the two. I don't know why I typed "king cobras" before. Laughing

I fixed the typo in my review. Very Happy

Most of the moves are in the Encyclopedia. You can check it by looking at the first post Niiro wrote here. Every move credited to Jerry can be found in the Encyclopedia. It takes a lot of practice to master them.

Hey guys!

I know I'm a little late to give some feedback (2 days, ouch! Mad ) but I gotta say I loved what you guys put together. I've been anxiously waiting for it until I got bombarded with homework and swamped with projects and whatnot, but I have to say I was well amused with this project. All your moves were way better than what I can do...hopefully that will change! Confused Oh well, I guess I'll go sit in a corner and cry for now. Haha no...practice makes perfect and if nobody's perfect than I guess I'll keep practicing!

Great job you guys~~~ Mr. Green

the magic man: Every one of Jerry's moves were from the EOPCF. Smile You should get it! It's great!

MichaelMarino:Yeah, I forgot about the angle of the PBF. Confused I think you can still tell how even it is, if you turned down the brightness. I actually can create the PBF faster than CIAPPI shows it (tho I bet he can go way faster than I can). I just wanted to fit the song. Cool With people like De'vo or Andrei, they go for flashy speed moves. I like Jerry's style of exaggerating the moves, and making it flourishy. Very Happy (oh yeah, if you think about it, there are many definitions to the word "in"...figure out which one I'm using, and you'll see it makes sense, and that I didn't lie Wink ) Lastly the opener you described sounds like the one Nemesis has, and its nothing similar to mines. It sounds like the opener De'vo did on the XCM box, just without the XCM box.

DeadPeopleAllOver: The spinning of the hands I tried to take out. Confused But I've done the triple transfer a little before Andrei's contest vid. Since his vid, I thought the spinning was supposed to be there, and so since then, I've done the spinning. And when you try to take it out, you'll find that it is very difficult. I could easily do it, but I'd be pausing a bit to remember that I'm skipping the spin and going right into the next transfer. I wanted to at the very least restrict it to the loop transfer...guess I failed at that. Sad

Running L-Cuts I could never get, so I basically never did them (except against marp). All I did was do the LXQuad.

Overall, I liked how well I was able to sync the moves to the music in so many places.

Oh yes, the first part of my display cut is done one handed.

Flipback fan I have no idea how to make it rounder. That was basically the first time I had done it good, and I still don't know how to make ti round.

Anyways, thanks to you all, for your comments. I've learned a lot through your comments alone, so keep typing!

Hey!

Thanks for the feedback............by the way....is there annywhere you can get it apart from the U.S.....

No, since it is shipped and printed by Jerry himself.

You're right, it is really expensive. Jerry says $35 shipping for UK on his site.

You'll just have to trust me on this one, we need you to change your username asap. Some members from Superhandz do browse these forums. If they feel that De'vo is being immitated or misrepresented then it will get back to him.

Agreed...what if someone signed up as dan or dave buck? Just doesn't make any sense...its best to make yourself unique and you will gain more recognition and distinction from others (assuming you want to)

I actually went out of order.

The first cut in the series of Tudor's revolution cuts whats the basic one hand revolution. The second cut is Tudor's One Hand Revolution 3 cut, and the cut following that is his one hand revolution 2 cut (taught on Tudor's Showoff 2)

I agree, a 21Ace Project, 2nd Edition (or whatever, better name someone comes up with) would be a great idea, but wait awhile, untill all of the artists improve by loads, so that it will really blow people away.

Movie files need to be in .mp4 format to work on the new video Ipod.

I use Videora (www.videora.com) to convert my card movies to .mp4, and then they will upload onto the ipod. In some instances, however, the sound lags behind the actual video, which is solved by some tweaking and troubleshooting with the program itself.

Hope that helps,
Marp
