 9th Chip Trick Contest |

Chip Tricks Contest rules/conditions(subject to change):
DEADLINE 10th January, 2007 Midnight Pacific Standard Time
Judges: Shadow
Rules
There are some new rules so read them carefully!
1) One person - one video
2) The actual performance in the video can't be longer than 90 sec. The credits can exceed the time limit.
3) No glued chips
4) By submitting videos you are giving 21Ace.com permission to include them on the site(with credits of course). By submitting documentation in the email, you are giving 21Ace.com permission to include it on the site.
5) You have to upload the videos here: http://www.21ace.com/video-pictures/thumbnails.php?album=2. The videos can be uploaded on the last day of the contest (if you can't upload them on the last day you can send them to the judges earlier (for instance by sending them to vids{at}21ace.com – send a pm to Shadow when you use this email for sending your videos). The size limit is 20mb. No other methods of sending the videos (e.g. linking somewhere else like youtube) will be accepted.

Hi,
can somebody give me some hints for compressing my contest video? The size is 320x240, and I just can't get it small. As VCD mpeg it's 19MB, as DivX avi it's about 30 MB. Can someone help me?

I'm using Windows Movie Maker and it seems to do a good job of managing the file sizes. For example, when I combine individual avi files it produces a wmv file that is much smaller than the combined size of the individual avi files.
I think the guys in the 9th card contest thread made some good points about the time limit. 90 seconds seems a little bit short for me. I think it would be better if the limit was more like 2 minutes...

thanks for this hint eric  now i got my vid to 5mb.
i like the 90s-limit because then one concentrates more on the quality than on the quantity. I also have some tricks that I haven't included into my vid because of the time limit, but I just show them next time.

Sorry for not getting a vid, I've been having massive computer problems and i just can't figure out some stuff.
But hopefully i'm just going to the vid me and King Joe did for fun up soon and at least submit something.
@Joe: Good job man, I'm glad you've come a long way since i started teaching u a while back.

Yes, I have already seen three stacks shuffle. It was not with many chips but still. The 9th contest is already over but you can of course enter the next one (when it is announced).
