Beer + Clay = ? |
|
Hello All, great forum you have going here!
I want to step up to a top notch set of clay or ceramic chips and leave my current lead loaded cheepies behind. But, I've one fear burning in the back of my mind. Way to often, somebody at the table with a belly full of beer and dreams of dollar signs in their eyes spills a drink on his chip stack while reaching for his hole cards. Right now, in means nothing more then a pain in the butt delay in the game as the wobbly rounder paper towels himself and the plastic chips. But what would a cold bud or rum and coke bath do to a stack of $600 clay or ceramic chips?!

maybe this will help:
http://pokerchips.com/faq.html
it'll give you a little info on the nature of clay....
...i'm building a table, and the felt alone was $40. No drinks on the Poker Table! I'll provide little endtable people can put their drinks on. Perhaps it'd be wise to do the same. Also, i'm gonna say no eating durring games ... i cant imagine anything worse than Dorito Cheese-infested clay chips.

Are clay chips washable?
No they are not. You cannot put clay chips in the dish washer, clothes washer or bucket of water to soak. This will destroy your chips! If you need to clean any clay chips, it should be done one chip at a time. Use a soft fine brush (toothbrush works well) and a small amount of mild detergent in water. Use the brush to apply a small amount of cleaner to the chip, then dry at once with a soft cloth. |
That being said, if you cleaned them up immediately after the beer was spilled you'd probably be OK.
