Card Sharp by Brian Tudor |
|
I saw this advertised. What's everyone's feelings on it? It teahes how to cheat at poker, and I know that's a touchy subject. Here's the ad:
NEW! Card Sharp DVD by Brian Tudor
A professional guide to the art of cheating at poker.
Never before has a complete system (detailing all of the techniques necessary to successfully cheat at the game of poker) been compiled in one volume. Brian Tudor, a world renowned card mechanic know for his unparalleled speed and dexterity as well as his groundbreaking new-school style, has broken all the rules by daring to reveal the material contained herein.
Make no mistake, enemies have been made by taking these techniques public, but true to his up-from-the-streets attitude the author does not care. He is more concerned with cementing his place in history as the first one to put all the pieces together and publish one single conprehensive system for cheating at poker. Brief descriptions outlining the five principals covered in this volume are as follows: Each of these principals is thoroughly broken down step-by-step and visually explained in precise detail.
* Card Location (finding the hot cards)
* Card Control (stacking the deck)
* False Shuffles (retaining the deck in stacked order)
* Countering the Cut (nullifying the cut)
* Trick Deals (putting the hot cards where you want them)

Sounds awesome. Cheating isn't really my thing but it would be an essential in any cheaters arsenal i'm sure...

Tudor.
I thought flourishing was his thing.
The text listed above sounds a bit overdone. Naturally, they try to sell as many copies as possible. It's always interesting to see new releases on this subject. Hope it is a good dvd.

Try, if you can, to see the trailer. Then decide not to buy it.
There's an interesting thread on this over at the Cafe. If you _really_ want to learn mucking try to get hold of the books 'Hand Mucking' by George Joseph (Gambler's Bookshop stock it) or 'Cheating at Blackjack Squared' by Dustin Marks (out of print and _damn_ hard to find).
Take care, Ian

I have checked the video at some places and they say that the running time is only little over 30 minutes. It seems to be quite short.

Im a big fan of brian tudour.... but im sorry to have to say that 30 minutes just isnt long enough for an instructional dvd. Especialy not one that claims to be the definitive collection of cheating techniques.....

Ah gotcha...haven't really checked Penguin much lately.
Yeah Mav I see what you're saying Sounds like a pretty cool DVD but not much need in buying it now that I saw over half of the stuff explained in the trailer.

I just watched the trailer for this, I have to say, I wasn't impressed, not because the moves weren't good (some of them weren't), or because most of the material appeared to be basic (it didn't seem like it included really superb methods or highly refined points and subtleties on the ones it did mention), but because it didn't look very well tailored to real cheating. Take for example the under the spread cull. This isn't normally a gambling move, it's a move from magic. Or you can look at the top packet retention (sounds like the same thing or at least the same concept as Marlo top stock retention using block transfer), the practical applications in gambling are pretty limited at least as he demonstrates it. Basically, a lot of the material he appears to teach isn't the type of material I'd mostly use and he leaves out the material that would be better to use. I won't go over it all point by point.
As I mentioned though, even those points aside, a lot of his techniques don't look that good, flashing cards on switching and false deals, not making the likes of Lennart (apparently poorly spelled in the demo video) Green's Hindu shuffle (the circulation shuffle) look like a very convincing shuffle etc.

I've been looking and just have to say. |

First of all, you are all are imitators trying to duplicate shit. Unlike you bashers, Tudor makes money dicking around with cards while you post shit, stupid shit at that, like you could do it better. Listen, if you could do it better, we'd be here bashing your shit..... need I say more?
Now after the intial shock, I didn't really mean any thing bad in calling you imitators. You have interests that are admirable and people really do appreciate what you do as you bring wonder, excitement, and magic to them..and you know this.
But, that guy Tudor, if you were to put his pants in the washer and dryer, you will be mad because card debris is all over everything. Why, 'cause he always has cards in his pockets... No Joke. He takes it seriously while many of you go to regular jobs on a daily basis. On the side, after work, you are playa' hatin' right here on the one who knows the shiznit and has devoted his life to bringing what he knows to you. (don't jump on your high horse and message me because yes, I'm talking to you and you know it)
Stop bashing a pioneer all you player haters. I've seen the tricks, and moves and like you have seen the videos. Even though I myself am mad at him right now, I cannot deny that this man has an unparalled gift. He is truly amazing. Show some respect people. Oh and, PLEASE! Be kind to the pioneers. You would expect the same.
When you are famous for whatever it is you were called to do in this life, I promise to not talk mucho, mucho stuff about you.

rickashay, not only is this an old, finished topic but you seem to have misunderstood. Not one person claimed to be able to do it better (perhaps actualy reading the previous posts would be a good idea) all that was said was that the preview was rather exposing and that for only 30 minutes of material that is not a good idea.
Anyway, who are you? Next time that you decide to waltz into a forum and start calling everyone 'imitators' at least have the courtesy to introduce yourself .
What is more, your post is contradicts itself and is basicaly drivvel. I would like to know what made you spontaneously post this
p.s: Normaly, as this is your first post I would welcome you to the forum and look forward to conversing with you, however based upon the mannor of your entrance here at 21ace, im sorry but i do not think i can , I feel people like you are not good for the development of the forum, prove me wrong: im sure you have some very informative posts up your sleeve...(but dont forget to introduce yourself first in the introductory thread )

You sound like De'vo, with all your playa hatin' and shit bashing and whatnot. Grow up.
And guess what dick face? Some of us do get paid to do this!
I almost never have cards in my pockets - they're always in my hands!
And about you bashing OUR shit because were doing better - as an example, look at Jason Scoll or howeveryouspellit. We are bashing his shit to this very day! You know why? Because he does it he does it very well, I won't say better because I don't want to inadvertently drag Jason into this.
If you're looking for a fight, you came to the right place.

Did I say better . Actually, I kind of did .
Back on the motherfucking topic.
Card sharp looks good, but I'd rather learn from the likes of Marlo, Vernon, Turner, Nash.

When you make a contribution to the arts even if it's for 15 minutes you'd better hope that someone, just one person will say something positive when everyone else says negative things.
Imagine looking at the boards...seeing this spew about you, over and over (ad nauseum ppl)...it hurts. If in all of it you can find one comment that is uplifting...would it make a difference to you? Maybe not if money is your only motivation... but it's not the main motivator for everyone.
The person in question does read this and when he logs in, I do want him to find one uplifting comment.
I said something positive and you all attacked me and said nasty things...re-read your own posts.
There's some mean stuff going on here. I'm just saying!
I won't post anymore. I just wanted to try and make a friend smile for once. My bad!

Janvier, you didn't say much positive about Tudor, you mostly insulted us for not liking his Gambling Sleights DVD. That's why we jumped all over you. Don't get me wrong, I like Tudor's flourishing stuff, but I just think there are better products out there for this type of material.

i think he is being a little greedy. he isn't happy with just flourishing and magic DVD's, so he decided to have a go at releasing a gambling DVD. which IMO was a pretty weak effort...... making a 30 minute DVD and charging 40$ for it is rediculous..... nobody is that good of a teacher, especially not tudor!
