Hi @ll,
ordering various types of chips for my chip tricks got me to collecting casino chips. Does anybody now a good website on casino chip prices? like a collectors guide?

Truly a great site. The prices are too high though.

They are expensive, but they're a retailer. Not really a price guide. They do have many old chips you won't find other places.
Your chips are only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Got myself "the official U.S. Casino Chip Price Guide" by James Campiglia and Steve Wells. It just arrived a minute ago.
I actually ordered it as a late x-mas present for a friend but I think I'm gonna keep it. Wasn't able to find a good site. And the book has pictures and ratings of over 2000 casino chips in it.

That sounds neat. The prices would fluctuate a lot with casinos closing like the Stardust. I'm sure their chips would go up since you can't get them anymore.
Does it have prices for different quantities? Like 100 $1 chips from the Sands?

No prices for different quantities. And I guess the prices are still higher then what you can actually get for the chips. But the book gives a good idea on what the prices could be. The book has different prices for different chip conditions, contains informations on the issue, manufacturer, insert, inlay and mold of each chip. What I find most interesting is the column on rarity of each chip. They made a 10 class rarity scale: from 2-3 known chips to 2000+ chips plus 2 extra classes for unique chips (just 1 left) and unknown (no known chip left).
If anybody needs an information on a chip listed in there I'll post it. just tell me.

That's pretty neat. How much for the classic WSOP Binions Horse Shoe chip. Black 100.
That's be a tough one to come across. They used it around 2000-2003.

I guess tourney chips would be harder to get a hold of. EMan has a $25 WSOP chip from 2006 I believe. (drools)

Yea too bad BJs aren't comercially available. The Flamingo in Vegas uses BJs for their $5 chips. They're sooo nice.
