Cheating a Cheat |
|
Hey guys.
I didn't feel that this would quite fit in the Magic and Flourishes section so I posted it here.
The other day I was playing poker with a few guys from school, not for a whole lot of money, and it was pretty fun. However, I noticed someone trying to pull some fast moves and, well, cheating. Now, this person wasn't at all an experienced cheater, trust me. I mean, he was just doing things like trying to switch his cards without anyone noticing, holding out cards, seeing what the next card was, etc. Now, nobody else saw this but me, probably because I've been well exposed to all different methods of cheating. But I mean, this guy was just asking to get caught. So instead of ratting him out, I gave him some of his own medicine. Generally I don't cheat people, it's just not a cool thing to do in my books. But I mean this guy was practicially begging for it. Now, I'm not going to get into the entire story, but in the end this guy fell well behind. Throughout the entire game I was just focused on taking him out. If one of the other players was betting and he was out, I would just fold regardless of my hand because I didn't want to cheat anyone else. Anyways, that's what happened.
I was just wondering what you guys thought. Is it alright to cheat someone if they're trying to cheat you? I know the "right" answer would be no, but what would you do?

You taught him a good lesson and also protected the other honest players in the game. I would have done the same thing.

There's a difference between "Owned" and "Pwned." A difference that I'm very aware of. haha
