Daniel Garcia DVD - TORN |
|
I've just picked this up over at Ellusionist, and god DAMN. Hands down, THE best card trick I know how to do, bar none. Extremely high recomendations from me. The card visibly just melts together piece by piece. The card could be signed on the front AND on the back, it's also examinable afterwards and can be given away, to keep as a very shocking piece of memorabilia. I realy didn't expect it to be this good. I'm speechless. It is a bit pricey, but it costs every penny. EVERY single little penny.
PS: Have any of you guys ran into gems like this? I've gotten tons of tricks online and none of them had an impact as big as this one on me. Could you share your findings? Thanks.

See what happens when you invest in gems like that instead of just trying to teach yourself everything ? jk....
Yeah I believe there was a thread about this a while ago. This is by far the best torn and restored card ever made...and the trick itself is definitely a gem. Although the angles are bad, this can be great for one on one or close up where you have control of your audience. I recommend this one just as much as I do the Daniel Garcia Project. Pick them all up

What are you talking about the angles are bad? You can get at least 90 if you do it a little more conservative than he did in the demo.

I would assume so lol.
Yeah I've been thinking about picking this up. I need a good torn and restored effect.

I'd say about a couple of days. Even less if you have experience in coin manipulation.

With the effect, I managed to get it in an hour or two, and I could perform decently within like two days. ...I don't see how coin manipulation helps, though.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE practice this more than just a couple of days before you perform...a gem like this deserves way more. This is an effect you should definitely master before performing

I love it, but I don't like the setup/cleanup aspect of it...AMAZING trick, don't get me wrong...I won't say anything else...it would just be something you would HAVE to master before you could do it, like Marp said. I give it 10/10. Freaking sweet. It was one of the first tricks I bought, I ironically, and I should have waited until I was better with cards...although I'm comfortable with it, I haven't performed it yet...how are the reactions?

I've noticed that people freak out during the first fusion. The second one is a natural build up because there is clearly a corner missing, but at that point they are just speechless. The biggest reaction comes either during the first fusion, or during their examination of the restored card. I've also noticed that people completely forget about the angles, even more so if you do it face first. They dont like start jumping up and down or tryign to walk behind me, they're just stunned. And the set-up isn't realy that complicated, and cleanup is very easy because they cant wait to touch that card. In fact, the preparations are so easy it realy borders on impromptu. Simply THE best. It's so direct it's scary.
Also, usualy I let them sign the part of the card that will be showing, and sign the other side myself. That way you get a reputation going, plus they are COMPLETELY sure it's realy the same identical card. Unlike some other effects of this type that I can mention...

I never really thought of the signing thing...that would make it seem VERY authentic...sweet. I'm definitely going to try this. PM me with more details, plz.

yeah, I didn't really perform in two days, I just managed to do it almost flawlessly in the mirror, so if there was actually someone watching, they wouldn't go "ohh, i saw what you did"

Um.... wtf?
http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=19
Whats this? From what I see the method is EXACTLY the same as Torn. In fact, the third piece added looks more natural and more angle proof, I think I'm going to use that one from now on. Has anybody seen this? It costs the same as Torn but there are some variations, one where all four corners are signed.
