Folded a Royal Flush |
|
Well I didn't really fold a royal flush, but in this 2000 play chip 18 player SnG. It's down to the last 4 players. Blinds are 40/80. I was dealt KcJc UTG.
Seat 5: TRUE JOKER (2,450)
Seat 7: 200 Motels (4,780)
Seat 8: Islander199 (13,255)
Seat 9: nflip (6,515)
nflip posts the small blind of 40
TRUE JOKER posts the big blind of 80
The button is in seat #8

Islander199 calls 350
nflip calls 310
TRUE JOKER raises to 2,450, and is all in
200 Motels has 15 seconds left to act
200 Motels folds
Islander199 folds
nflip calls 2,100
TRUE JOKER shows [9d Ah]
nflip shows [7h 4h]
200 Motels: kj
*** FLOP *** [Ac Qc Qh]
*** TURN *** [Ac Qc Qh] [Tc]
*** RIVER *** [Ac Qc Qh Tc] [9h]

nflip shows a pair of Queens
TRUE JOKER wins the pot (5,600) with two pair, Aces and Queens
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 5,600 | Rake 0
Board: [Ac Qc Qh Tc 9h]
Seat 5: TRUE JOKER (big blind) showed [9d Ah] and won (5,600) with two pair, Aces and Queens
Seat 7: 200 Motels folded before the Flop
Seat 8: Islander199 (button) folded before the Flop
Seat 9: nflip (small blind) showed [7h 4h] and lost with a pair of Queens
I was pretty sure I was beat before the flop, and I was right, however the turn woulda gave me a royal flush. This story does end happily though. I ended up winning the Sng

Woulda Coulda Shoulda and what not.
In reality, you did the right thing by folding the Kc Jc in that spot. Had it just been called going to the flop, there's no doubt you would have been in it to the end.
