Got the wrong deck |
|
This is just a thread where I explain an issue I'm having with a retailer over a recent purchase of Copag cards. Mainly to vent, but also to let ppl know the out come so they can be aware how it was handled before buying from them.
I bought a new set of Copag Masters from 'uppie co' on ebay for $16US, including shipping. A pretty good deal in my opinion.
I received a different style of deck. Both are the same small index, but both have different backing and I think are different size.
I sent them an email to them this afternoon explaining the issue and requesting a resolution.
I'll post the suspenseful resolution once they respond.

I don't have much experience with online auctions but I have heard that this happens quite often. But at least they sent you a close substitute...
I hope they will send you the decks you really bought.

Ebay's a really competitive market so there's usually pretty good deals.
This is an ebay store which is just like any other online store. There's no auctioning, just set prices.
The worst part is that there's a new deck here that can't use.

That's too bad, I hope they let you exchange it.

I've played with both versions, the ones they sent wear out quicker (or at least the ones we have did, the backs lost their ink). The ones on top last longer, a better quality Copag IMO

They replied back today, and said that they'd ship the correct ones today. The didn't mention returning the others, so looks like I get'em both.
This works out to be $4 US per deck. Which is a pretty good deal.
I think a set for $16 US is a good deal considering 5star deal has'em for about the same before shipping.
So they handled this well thus far. If they follow through, which I have complete faith they will, I would recomend 'uppie_co'.
They have mostly Copag cards, but they also have a set of WSOP replica chips by chipco. $300 for a set of 500 chips. Very nice.

i'm glad that you're getting another set sent. i guess it was just a mix up. i'm not a big fan of purchasing from ebay stoes (or even ebay for that matter) unless it's something rare that i want. i've seen a ton of copags on mr.pokerchips.com for 14.95 with the free shipping. no tax as well.

Glad to hear they're doing the right thing. I've had 2 nice experiences on ebay recently, most of the sellers are good especially if you are mindful of their feedback ratings.

My guess is they're in the US. I'm in Canada so they'd prolly charge shipping to here. Straightflush.ca charges $20 Canadian which is just a bit more after the currency exchange. They have free shipping on orders over $50 though.
I think i got a good deal considering where I'm located.

Here's an update on how this situation ended up being handled. I had been emailing the above ebay store, requesting an update, every week with no response. Yesterday was almost two monts since I ordered them.
I asked for any type of response and that the cards be shipped or my money refunded. They appologized for the delay and said they were having staff issues and refunded me.
So i got the cards for free.
Not the ones's I want, but they'll do for free.
I had to leave positive feed back cuz I got them for nothing, but the experience was anything but positive.

Even though it was a pain in the ass, at least they eventually stepped up to the plate and kinda took care of it. Many others aren't so lucky.

It's great that I got them for free, but now I can't justify buying the deck I originally wanted, cuz these will last forever.
Was thinking of getting some kems. I tried a set recently and they have fuller colors and feel more like a real card than the Copags.
These will do for now. Think I'll try n find a deal on Super System II and use my refund on that.

kems are absolutely sweet. I have two decks of the paisley design, bridge size, standard index. They are the best cards I have ever had.

Since I started this thread, I've bought a set of kems and the Copag Master's decks. Bad news is I was playing a cash game after a local tourney. I brought the deck of Copags that I mentioned in the 1st post and after like the 6th hand, didn't I collect the dead wood and find that one of the cards had a creased corner?
I put the cards away and pulled out a new deck of paper cards and told everyone that since they can't play nice, we're using the crappy cards.
Anyway, I emailed Copag, they said they'd send me a replacement 6c from that deck. A short while later I get a letter from them and enclosed is the 6s. I emailed them to let them know they sent me the wrong card. They replied saying they'd send the right one right away, and apologized.
I waited about 2 months and didn't receive anything so I emailed them once more, they said they'd courier me the card, plus a new set of cards for the delay.
So 5 days later I get the correct replacement card and two new decks of the same cards.
So I got 4 decks of Copags for free.
I'll prolly sell the newest set on ebay cuz I already have this deck and might try n get another deck of kems.

I just received Two set-ups of the Copag 1546 Elite Poker size, reg index Red/Blue and I must say these are really great cards. The corner numbers/letters are almost twice the size of my other plastic cards and the paper cards. I really like the feel of them, took a little while but I'm hooked.
Hope to use them in tonights game if we have one. I will order some of the Master series soon, to have two different types.
Should have done it when I ordered these. They should last many years.

That sounds like the cards you got are Jumbo index. Jumbos are good when your playing a full table so everyone can see them.
Copags are great cards, and I actually prefer them to kems for durability. kems, I find, tent to lose their fanability, and stick sometimes. Although, I do like the look of kems better.
I used to love jumbo index cards when I was a kid for some reason, but since I started playing poker, I noticed that when peeking at your hole cards using jumbos, you have to expose more of the card, resulting in a better chance someone will see them. I always have some paper jumbo index cards around incase someone's playing with us who has trouble seeing the cards.
Welcome to the forum, BTW.

Got the Wrong Deck |

I finally got time to get back with you. I checked the cards and they are Reg/Index not Jumbo. The other cards just have thinner letters and numbers than the Copags. It makes the Copags look much larger than what the other cards have.
I have been shuffeling them some and they do take getting used to. They are great cards and will get a lot of use out of them. Someday after the Hollidays, I am going to order me a set of the Master design.
Have a Grerat Holliday Season and a Merry Christmas...

I understand now. The Copag does have thicker index. I really like them too. We had a home game last night and everyone liked the kems better. They said the Copags looked faded. Which is true, but I like the feel of Copag better.
Now all you need is some nice chips to go with your nice cards.

Never have had kems. Maybe someday I will get some.
I have several K of the Faux's that I have labeled and also several K of the Nexgen Edge Spots , 700 of which I have labeled. Still have many to do, but can't seem to fine the time or money to do it right now.
Have a Great Holliday Season..

Your not going to believe this..but I never have more than 8 or 9 of my friends playing at the same time. Live in the country and thats all there are.
I can't explain why I have all these chips , except that I can't pass up great sales when they come up. I got 5 of the Target Nexgen Sets when they were only $19.99 for a set of 300 nexgens and then Overstock is selling them for $139.99 for 1000 with acrylic carring case and chip racks. What can I do??
I can't explain the Faux's, as I started on Chiptalk and then before I knew it I had several K of them. 700 or so labeled for a cash set and another 700 set labeled for tourney's.
Still have several, at least 1500 Nexgen's and several K of the Faux's to label.
Thats probally why my cash is non-existance for chips right now.
I'm retired now so, it really gives me something to do"NEW HOBBY".
Don't mean to rattle on but may help to explain why I am now getting very interested in Cards now. I'm about chiped out..
Have a Great Day..

Yea, chips are addictive. Like Pringles.
Also, those chips were a crazy good deal.
