Post Guests Sign Up Reply with quote
I have been seeing a lot of guests in the forums again recently, usually about half of the people on are guests. Right now there are 10 people, 5 of them guests. and i just want to ENCOURAGE THESE GUESTS TO SIGN UP.You might wonder why?
Well...
-It doesnt take long to sign up
-You can learn a lot from others and teach others a lot too
-It is always fun to talk poker and the more people in the forums, the more points of view and more opinions, the better

If you have any questions on how to sign up, how to post, etc it is pretty self explanatory, but you can go ahead and ask them here anyways and get some help if you cant figure it out.

what if they just want to post once or twice then leave? Do you really want a crapload of inactive people? sorry about being an ass right now... im not trying to. What you should do though if you really want them to sign up is require it to post.

To me, and I know I'm just one of the new guys, but it looks better if you have alot of people signed up, no matter if they're inactive or not, thats just me.

i would have to agree with muffinman, i was just telling my grandma today as a matter of fact, that im part of this site with 1500 registered users (it was just an estimate) but big numbers do something to a person
just like in a persons mind, 40 dollars and FIFTY dollars are two different things, theres just something about FIFTY that rings a bell in your brain.......or other numbers in different peoples cases, a hundred a thousand, ten thousand etc.

I agree. What should we do to encourage lurkers to sign up? Also things have been slow for regular members too. What should we do to make things more active and exciting around here?

Here's an idea. Every week or so, give away a prize to a random forum member, but the only requirement is that they've posted twice within that time frame.

Prizes could range from keychains to chip samples to an 21ace t-shirt.

Also let it be known that these prizes are in place and easily noticed on the main page.

The random forum member prize seems interesting. We will discuss that.

Btw some of the quest users are not real people but spam and search bots.

I like the weekly prize idea, especially if keychains are the prize.

Question to those in Europe. How much does it cost to send things to other parts of Europe?

I can send keychains to all the winners in the US and Canada. But it is more expensive for me to send them to winners in Europe. Would it be better if we have someone in Europe send them to the winners in Europe?

The small flate rate envelope is $5. I don't think I can send it cheaper than that to Euro countries... I will check the prices.

I bet we could find one of our Euro forum members that could be trusted to do this.

Maybe a larger prize at the end of each month like a chip sample or a deck of cards er something. Cuz really, a key chain isn't that appealing. But still people like winning things, regardless what it is. If it's becomes a cost factor, we could always have all the mods chip in a buck via pay pal or something for a real nice prize for a quarterly draw.

yeah i live in the eu. but even here the prices for shipping are quite big about 20 dollars per package (4-8 days delivery time) so i dont think that this is a good idea ... (because of the huge costs)

but i think why don't sign up its free (isn't it Rolling Eyes Laughing ) and it even costs you only some minutes ... maybe i will refer some guys Razz

If it's just about keychains and other smaller stuff like card decks, shipping is relatively cheap (max 2-5$) inside europe. here's a price list from Deutsche Post:

http://www.deutschepost.de/dpag?tab=1&skin=hi&check=yes&lang=de_EN&xmlFile=900424

Of course, shipping a chipset would be about 20$, as JdMM mentioned.
