Ok, guys, we all probably play a little poker here. So let me ask, what are your experiences with intimidate opponents by chip tricks? I start this topic because yesterday night I was in a little casino in our little town -- well, they at least told me it's a casino, you guys just imagine pub with bad beer, 60-years old bartender, even older pool-table, some Lucky 777 or something to spend your change and last but not least, three or four poker tables -- so, on two of them there was some sit'n'go action as they said - standart saturday NL Hold'em tourney. It was finally some live game with quality chips, not some dice plastic slippery ones, so when I had nothing to do - which I hadn't, because that super-low-stake SNG action with these long "i'm best player here" faces around table was so fakin' boring - I made tricks a lot. Simply, since there was 18 total suckers (include myself) & I had those tricks with me, I had every pot I wished. I was like "you're sure you wanna do this?" - show a little finger roll or flip combo, re-raised & stack other guys chips immediately after his fold.  Well, that's my story, now how about you? Are you find these things somewhat helpful while playing? I just using it to keep myself concentrated (and wake up) while I'm playing live tournaments, because I'm more like a multitable (online) cashgame player.

hey mistero.
i made a similar expierience once... i played a small tournament with 35 people and started doing chiptricks  and suddenly i had a great image everyone was like "this must be a pokerpro" XD and so like you said i came away with every bluff and won the tournament... XD btw i'm not that good at poker ^^

you definitely get more credit if you can sport some quality chip tricks, especially if you're a young guy like me i think. i mean i like showing off as much as the next guy, but i usually do tricks just cuz i feel like it; butterflies, shuffles, basic flips and twirls, knuckle and finger rolls mainly.

it works well if you're playing people you don't know. If you're playing ur friends that noe u do chip tricks all the time it obviously doesn''t work as well
