Well if ur looking on how to manipulate cards, I would suggest ummm yeah Xtreme Beginnerz(wow that name is really starting to come up a lot with me) anyways yes i think that would be a lot better than Ninja 2(for manipulation of course) And xb can also be found on Ellusionist or penguin magic or even here andother places. Hope that helped

Ninja 2 is basically an arsenal of sleights that you can use to put together your own routines. It's a bit more advanced than Ninja I, but it's not that hard to grasp the basic concept of the moves. It does have some routines in it, but it's more based around the specific sleights (passes, topchanges, etc.). I thought it was a good DVD, reguardless.

That too... if you're looking for Xtreme Card Manipulation (XCM) try Xtreme Beginnerz (xb). If you want to do MAGIC without gimmicks, try out the Ninja series (or Crash Course 1 and 2 if you're really new to this.
Just a side note, Xtreme Beginnerz isn't as much a "beginner" DVD as it is an "intermediate" one. I found that out the hard way. It's still a good buy, though.

i'd disagree. the moves aren't hard at all, and as the title suggests it is for beginners.

The moves aren't hard to pick up, sure. But someone who just picked up a pack of cards for the first time isn't going to be able to follow it well.
When I said "intermediate," i put it in quotations for a reason. I couldn't think of a better word for it. I guess ameture? Definately not beginner moves, especially the Flash Drei with the Impossible Stack.

The Ninja series is a great one to pick up, like Crash Course. However, I was under the impression that the Ninja movies were slightly more advanced. But as Fatty said, it all depends on what you wanna do with your "magic". Brian Tudor calls himself a card magician, but I don't think I've seen a video of him doing a trick yet. He manipulates cards and works with XCM. So you just have to make the decision as to what you wanna do in card magic.

do you have ninja 1? crash course 1, crash course 2? i find ninja 2 does a bad job of teaching the "moves" in magic. Its good to have in the collection, but i would suggest a different one first. I suggest learning one really good set of moves, such as the ambitious card (crash course 2) becuase that goes deep into the double lift and gives you a great arsenal of tricks to perfect. Once you get all those moves PERFECT then expand. You could also get crash course 1 which is a great "beginner" video. if you are just starting and i really mean just starting, this is a good one. It goes into how to hold the cards, getting comfortable etc. wow thats a long post! haha enjoy

Ninja 2 is a good resource for sleights, it gives you loads of techniques but to get really great magic from it you need to have a decent amount of creativity in you to turn those skills into a routine.
If you have a decent knowledge of magic then Ninja is a good addition to your arsenal.
If your after a book, I can whole heartedly recommend the Card College series. Its basically an encyclopedia of card moves that takes you from holding the deck right through to how to build your own routines.

Yeah, I heard about CC...I would like to check that out, it would probably make for a good addition to my library.

i personally don't care for either of the ninja videos i think he teaches horrable on ninja one, and i use maybe 1% of the techniques taught in ninja 2. usually when i am bord i rewatch them hoping i might be able to think of a good move to do with the techniques. some techniques in it are good but i would recomend L and L publishing videos like ammar of daryl if ya want to just learn slights (they pack there dvd full of slights usually there tricks are horrrable but good for learning slight of hand.
crash course isn't too bad if you are just starting out. and kard klub is a good way of teaching beginners two card monte which is probably the most powerful trick a beginner should learn.
if you want to flourish definatly get xb first then Brian Tudors Showoff and Showoff2. also from penguin magic Oz Pearlmans born to perform is a good video for beginners although i personally think he screws up 2 card monte in the video but the other tricks are good and he teaches some flourishes.

it is better than ninja one. It shows extreme card flourishes and ninja one is a begginer series.

Really, all I've gotten from both Ninja 1 and 2 are the passes. Everything else, I can find in a book in the children's section of the library. (And even then I found that passes were taught in that book)
