Jeanette Lee on the four-part shot routine |
|
Jeanette Lee has a nice answer for a pre-shot routine on page 16 of the February 2007 issue of Billiards Digest:
 |
 |
The four-part shot routine is the best way to maintain focus, no matter what conditions you face. First, make a decision about what you want to do.
...
Second, picture the shot happening exactly as you intend it.
...
The third step in the routine involves your aim. Get down on the shot and find your smallest possible target.
...
The final step may be the hardest. You have to trust yourself and let your stroke go. |
I'm going to try this the next time I play:
Decide
Picture
Aim
Trust
In order to remember the first letters of each step(D, P, A, T) I'll think of a phrase. Maybe "Double plays are tops" or something.
