Juiced Bee decks |
|
In THIS topic Mosdef 56 mentioned he was selling Juice Decks to 21ace members for $30 +S&H. having seen the price they normally go for I was tempted, so I got in contact with him to find out More.
I received my deck on saurday and it is great. High quality, fantastic juice solution, really great product and a good guy to boot.
Don't like to advertise too much but it popped up before and I always want to know what products are like, especially from indy sellers who are often cheaper.
Any I'm gonna have some fun with these.
Jonjo

I'm new to this forum but I'm guessing this question is stupid...What are juiced decks (like what is the advantage they give you?).

Guess I'll have to change my ads to read that the "break even point is 3 pre-marked decks of cards"
Glad to hear you are happy !

I'm with you expert,
these decks are worth way more than the $35 I paid.
I've bought a few since including a $120 one, not even close
marking are easy enough to learn on (after a few days) but very deceptive.
Lots of fun to be had.

Jonjo, I am glad to hear that you were happy with the $35 Juiced Deck.
Of course, marking your own deck will only average about $3-$4 per deck. But, some people may be happy saving themselves and hour and just spend the $35 per pre-marked deck.
Don't forget to ask if the pre-marked Juiced deck was marked for dim, medium or bright/sunlight lighting conditions. And also ask if the cards were marked for beginners or professionals.
By marking your own, you can "tune" the Juice marks for your own level of skill and lighting conditions AND create your own "non-standard" marking patterns which may be more deceiving.....OR with Juice Dust you can make an ad-hoc Juice deck by marking a borrowed deck while people are watching (without their knowledge).
Of course, each person has their own requirements and working environment....so, always ask before your buy ! .... Enjoy !

Thanks Jonjo |

I appreciate your honesty in evaluating juiced decks. I often have found it very interesting that people who sell juice and juiced cards ovestate the material costs used to make the juice. It is actually the opposite. The price of the materials used has very little to do with the quality while the mixture of the correct ingredients has everything to do with the quality. Anyone I have ever sold a juiced deck has found them to be deceptive, some to the point of actually having to train there eyes for days to be able to see the marks. Trust me when I tell you that for $35/ deck it is a great profit margin. Again, feel free to email me with questions at mosdef56@temple.edu

Mmmm, an EDU eMail. I guess you are a student and an entrepreneur, good for you ! .... It has been many years since I was in college. But, I majored in the 3 "P"s in college. "Pinball, poker and pool". With a backgammon minor. However, here is an interesting observation....
Considering that a textbook only costs 2-3 dollars to print, if that...why do you spend so much money for your text books for school ? Paper, cardboard and ink are not expensive for book printing.
I suspect that you are paying for information and the time it takes to write, research, publish, advertise, etc.... the book. I am sure you do not expect to pay $3 for new textbook because that is what the raw materials cost
You are correct, if people can sell marked card solutions for an average cost of $3-4 per deck they must make their money somewhere while still covering their expenses, research, etc. It actually takes about an hour or more to ship each order and a professional gets paid more than $10 per hour to support a house, wife and family, etc. ... and that does not cover material costs for 30 page instructional manuscripts, video CDs, stamp seals to reseal a card case, etc...and research for future products.
As you may know, chemicals for high tech marked cards is VERY expensive (military components used in this technology is expensive and chemicals cost hundreds of dollars per gram). Money to research this technology must come from somewhere.....and usually it is from my own pocket vs. money made from selling marked card solutions.
Even if you look at Juice, experimentation and research was performed to bypass security features that US Playing Card Company put into their cards. (Such as developing a new formula which will not burn/dull the finish of their cards.)
Without this funding, the development of new marked card technology would still be back in the stone age of using a magic marker or your nail to scratch a card
I honestly wish you luck and do not mind people selling pre-marked decks. I just want to make sure that people are educated when they make any purchase, regardless of who the purchase is from. People can make an educated purchase without knowing the details of manufacture. (For example, I can make an educated purchase of a TV without understanding the science and technology that makes a TV work -OR- I can enjoy a can of Coke without knowing the formula ) .... I feel that a consumer should know features, functionality amd trade-offs of each product to make an informed decision.
Now that I got off my soapbox...... I honestly wish you good luck with your sales and, most importantly, have fun !

You are correct in assuming that I was a college student, I actually graduated with a business degree a little over a year ago now. I'm currently working as a junior financial advisor and studying for the level 1 exam for the chartered financial analyst designation. I'd like to work as a portfolio manager by the age of 30. Anyway, I started with juiced decks while I was in college and it is a hobby of mine. Although I have not done the research that you have...I outsource that aspect, I do know the costs that go into it. I also know that I offer a quality product at a low price, which can be shown through my ebay feedback as well as other testimonials from customers like jonjo. This is a fun way for me to make some extra money aside from my regular job. I wish you continued luck and success with your ventures.
