I can see why Chumpchange says this one is tough. I tried this shot yesterday and I struggled with it. I think part of the problem was that I couldn't find a cue stick that was just right. Once I have my own cue stick it will be one less variable each time I practice shots. The physics are easy to understand, lifting the cue stick and striking at an angle does cause the cue ball to jump. However, getting the right amount of air and the right spacing is somewhat tricky. It is interesting that the audience is often more amazed by shots where a bunch of different balls go in different pockets. I wouldn't do this jump shot in front of a live audience unless you are a true pool shark. I t requires no setup and can be used in any game. I played with a guy in china (my age, 15) who got this shot every time. In regular games, you will have less "no shot" situations.
