Cards have been around way before the 17th century, and their quality has changed a lot over the years. Look at the date on a box or check a website to see when the company's were started. They are not plastic coated. They are mainly used for playing cards and rarely used for magic...but, some people do use them for gambling expose's since they are used in poker parlors. I personally hate them since they are either too slippery or too sticky...but, they do last a long time. That's just my 2 cents... They are great. they are used in casinos everywhere and they last forever. plastic cards are the best cards ever made. The problem is that I don't think too many people use them.... And I like to use back designs which people feel very familiar with.
