Light Bulbs and Climate Change |
|
Yesterday at Costco I bought a 10 pack of FEIT Conserv-Energy flourescent light bulbs. Normally they were over $13 or so but there was about an $8 credit given at the register bringing the cost down to a bit over $5 or so.
I put all the bulbs in place today.
The claims on the packaging are interesting:

Over the lifetime of the bulbs in this package you will:
Save 4,700 kWh of Electricity
That's enough energy to light the average home for over 2 years.
Help the Environment by Reducing Greehouse Gases
By saving over 3,380 pounds of coal from being burned or preventing
over 7,230 pounds of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere.
The greenhouse gases saved using the bulbs in this package are the
equivalent to planting almost 80 trees.
