Marking Chips |
|
A bunch of guys at work usually use custom chips so people don't slip in a chip. I am thinking of getting Pharos which are pretty generic and easy to get. Is there any way to mark these to help prevent this that won't deface the chip to much? Has anyone done this or should I just get custom chips or something harder to get a hold of off ebay.

What kind of game do you play in? If you have a weekly home game with friends and neighbors who you know and trust, I don't think sneeking in chips will be a big problem. But if you are playing with strangers your friends know, it might become a bigger issue. Besides custom chips, I can't think of a way to mark your chips without defacing them. Try oiling your chips, especially the high denominations. This way your chips will not only look better, but will look different if somebody tries to sneek in some high value chips. Dark chips respond better to oiling. But... for complete security your going to need to get custom chips.

May I suggest using an UV (Ultra Violet) stamp pad. Pick a shape or an animal stamp and mark each chip with a UV stamp.
That way you can know if someone rung in extra chips when viewed through a black light.
Just an idea...I hope it helps !
