Yow , you can interpret some information about way hold cue in right hand -along masse shoot ... somebody hold cue same way ,like as shoot standard shots - it means thumb down (for example me), and somebody like you -it means thumb up. You know...

well , I know that this is individual, but i wanna know - how much your colleagues preferred the one that way...and just any your opinion for these stuff ...

Confused

Dart (European) grip - thumb up, like a dart - that's how I do it
Overhand (like you normally do) grip - thumb down - that's how most American's (Massey) do it

Just find what works best for you. When I masse with a full cue I use the overhand grip. When I use a masse cue, I use a dart grip. Look at my NYC billiard video and watch Miguel Torres - he grips between the knuckles of his first and second fingers. I can't shoot that way.

-yow!

.... abt the grip thing ... i learned european style grip but i cant shoot any american style masse shots i mean the overhand/overhead style thumb down ....is it essential to learn it ?

i cant check the vdo yow told right now ..... but i think miguel uses the 2 finger grip just a little bit up from where we hold cigeret ... i mean the cue between his first/point and second/middle finger ...... i learned abt this one from jakefats .... and im still practising it ... the thing abt this grip and european style grip is ......they allows for alot of wrist action kinda like a flip that create an amajing amount of spin without shooting too hard ...and it also alows ur upper arm not to get stiff<im not sure abt this one though but my upper arm hurts after shooting masse shots >

I think most of the guys at the last tournament shot with the overhand grip. Mike Massey uses the European grip for masse #2 in the program. Dave Jamieson (from the Masses from Michigan youtube vid) uses a dart grip. I haven't gotten the control down with the dart grip as far as cueing straight, so I usually use the overhand grip.
