The movie Shade itself shows a lot of sleight of hand stuff in the intro and in the credits.
Shade also show some underneath tricks, including the McMillan Switch, and that is how people know how to do it.
Oh yeah, that vid shows the two cards.

If you want directions on this specific switch along with other stuff from Shade then check out the dvd Unreal Work. It was created by Jason England and R Paul Wilson, both whom had input for the movie. Jason did the actual switch in the beginning and he is quite good at it. I do not have the dvd but it has had great reviews. It's certainly an interesting item to own.

sorry to bring up this old thread, but i have one question about the McMillan switch.
In the movie Shade, the "to be switched" card is palmed, now I got Unreal Work by R.Paul Wilson and Jason England and the card thats to be switched is in gambler's cop.
I'm just wandering if the switch in Shade uses the same method as the one in Unreal Work. (i'm not asking for exposure)

Gambler's cop? Are you sure you don't mean gambler's palm? It definitely isn't ever in gambler's cop for the McMillan switch.

Yes, the technique uses the gambler's palm, usually you should start with gambler's palm then modify as you get into position. Both Shade and any instruction should teach it that way.

Oh, mucks, what fun.
Well, it’s not really a modified version of gamblers clip, you shouldn’t try and maintain that position prior to executing the muck - it should flow into one fluid action - you should release the grip from the pinky as you slide it under the card - much the same as a hole card switch. Rather than trying to manoeuvre under the card from that modified position at least that is my experience as you can loose control of the card otherwise.
I personally don’t execute the much from clip palm, I prefer to use the thumb pinch palm whereby the card is held in the joint of the thumb. I find it makes for a much smoother switch and also means you can come in with the tips of the fingers, which in my opinion looks more natural. Experiment with it - you may find you prefer this method.
