My Search for ther 2004 WSOP 2-7 Event Must End! |
|
Quote from some random website I was looking up concerning the 2004 WSOP DVD:
Kansas City Lowball (43 minutes) – If you're scratching your head wondering why you don't remember this, that's because event #16: No Limit Deuce to Seven Lowball was filmed and edited by ESPN... but for whatever reason they never actually aired it. Prior to this DVD release, the only way you could have possibly seen this was if you saw the streamed version ESPN put up on a secluded part of their web site.
I personally don't understand why ESPN didn't broadcast this. First of all, you don't exactly get to see Lowball played very often (I'm pretty sure this is the first time a Deuce to Seven event was filmed for television, actually). So it's nice to see a no-limit poker game that isn't Hold 'em for a change. Secondly, this is a pretty star-studded final table with Chris Ferguson, Barry Greenstein, Howard Lederer, Chau Giang, Steve Zolotow and more. This is an excellent episode, a great addition to the DVD, and definitely worth watching.
When I had digital cable back in 2004, I saw that the 2-7 event was going to be broadcast on ESPN, and I was very happy about it because I love watching new games on TV. But that happiness quickly turned to sadness as the scheduled telecast was changed and instead they aired a Hold 'em repeat.
Since then, I have been searching for this telecast, with no luck, I know it's on the DVD, but I could never find it in local stores and really, I don't want to spend money on a DVD when I can see the repeats almost nightly now on ESPN Classic.
If anyone has a download or a stream, anything, of this 2-7 event please help me out. Three years I've been waiting, and three years is long enough.

I have the video of this on my computer that I downloaded a couple years ago if you can't find it anywhere. I can upload it somewhere if you need me to.
