New Chip Trick ----> The Triangle |
|
This is a new chip trick I discovered while messing around with chips while watching T.V.
This is a variation of the chip twirl.
Please leave some feedback and comment on it, and be sure to let me know if this trick has already been performed by someone else (I looked around a bit to make sure)
Thanks,
Marp

I have personally done this trick before but I don't know if it has an official name. I believe twirlmasterflex has something similar to this in one of his videos but does not make the exact triangle shape.

In case you were wondering, CCR stands for Creedence Clearwater Revival , a classic rock band.

I have a picture of that trick on my site under Roll Down Variations.
I like it because it looks quite different from the normal Roll Down (Butterfly) with 4 coins. Feels a lot different to do as well.

I was thinking to myself originally...did I just do a butterfly with three coins? I couldnt really decide...felt entirely different but posting it here has gotten me some great feedback

I've also done this trick before but a bit different.
1) Take 3 chips and hold them in the same grip as you would for the twirl.
2) Lift the two closer chips to your palm with your index and thumb and drop the remaining chip down to your pinky and ring finger.
3) Do as if you were going to do a three chip butterfly now, but instead of opening up the chips, take the two chips between your middle and index now (because of the butterfly form) and do a front to back with them.
4) Grab the chip closest to your palm and finish the butterfly with all the chips circling around your middle finger
I will post a vid aswell

Okay, I know how this works and all, but how do you close the chips, as in put them in one stack? All I see is all the chips being moved towards the back of the middle finger in a really smooth motion, but how is it done? I want like a breakdown for that, like which one of the chips goes first, etc. Sorry if this sounds dumb, but it's driving me nuts how I can't close the chips right.

It's really straightforward: just rotate all the chips around and behind your middle finger. The chips need to be different distances from your knuckle so that they don't hit each other when you're moving them to the back, but that's the only trick to it. Just do it in a smooth motion and afterwards bring your middle finger under and behind the stack to end up in the standard starting position.
By the way I really like the incorporation of the front to back in the trick, that's a better way to do it. I put two ftbs in it now, one each time I pull a chip out.
Man, going back, that's a really crappy vid I posted. I was trying to get it up during a break in classes and took the first 'passable' attempt at the trick and put it up. The shame... I'll have to replace it with a better one.
