$50 for a pool cue is not a lot. I'd recommend to keep saving. Look around for lower end Lucasi's or McDermott's. You're probably going to want to spend at least $100 if not $150. That'll get you through the next few years before you're ready to upgrade again.

Well i got a regular kaiser cue which cot me around € 80 and I have to say it plays good enough for the pool level I'm on right now! As time evolves, I will be looking for more expensive and better cues but for now it's perfect!
I'd suggest you look up some of the specifics you'd like a cue to have (sort of wood, wrap, ...) and maybe test some out if you get the chance. that's what I did and I preferred the Kaiser over a cue that was almost twice the price of it! Also, i don't know if this could be of any help to you, but I prefer playing with a 19 Oz and nothing else, but that might be a personal matter for you ...
don't just buy the first thing you see, take your time and compare... especially if you plan of playing with this cue for a long time!

kk thanks. i dont really know a lot of the stuff said on these forums. like i hear sniper tips a bit, i get the 19 Oz. part xD lol. types of wood? how much of a difference does it make? i know theres quite a diff between like wood and fiber glass. plus i havnt even heard of kaiser b4 xD
it might take me a while and quite a bit of research to find out what im roughly looking for lol

my dad had an old cue stick he said he used to win a lot of stuff with. 21 Oz Dufferin. became my first cue stick. i havnt used it in a long time cause i never got around to replacing the tip xD its a glueon so i dont like those much lol. its the best cue ive ever used. im thinking of getting something similar to it, but like 1 up should i say. but really how much can i customize? wood, tip, weight, maybe like length of the cue, how much of a diff can wrap make? until i actually really looked at it i never really noticed that there was wrap on it! lol. what else am i missing?
im good at the table but clueless at the rest. i dont know that much about any of this, as in cues, ball types, i bet theres different cloth types that make a difference on which type you use, chalk types, ect. lol, i have a lot of work to do xD
