The key to this trick is not to try to apply too much pressure to the chips or you'll start dropping them, they just need to be held loosly. 1) Take four chips and hold them as if you were going to do a two chip twirl. 2) Take your thumb and lift the three chips closest to your thumb so that they are held between your thumb and index fingers. 3) Drop the remaining chip down between your ring and pinky fingers. 4) Bring your middle finger down as if you were going to do the butterfly, and get a firm grip on the three chips between your thumb and index fingers. 5) Use your thumb to do a front to back with the three chips, two chips do the front to back over one chip. (THIS WILL TAKE PRACTICE TO GET DOWN EASILY) 6) Grab the two chips that just came over the other side of the one chip with your thumb and pull them slightly downwards. 7) Now move your middle finger, still holding all the chips down to apply pressure on the stranded chip between your ring and pinky. 8.) Roll you middle finger upwards to position pressure on that stranded chip onto your ring and middle fingers. Your hand should now have one chip between your ring and middle fingers, one chip between your index and middle fingers, and two chips between your thumb and middle fingers. 9) Move your pinky over towards your thumb to grab one of the two chips held between your thumb and middle fingers --- you could also use your thumb to move them closer to your pinky to make it easier to grab. 10) Spread them, and there you have the square. If you've taken the time to learn my variation of the triangle and the 5 chip butterfly, this trick should be a breeze! Good luck and have fun!
