Are Bee's more slick than the originals?

Can anyone say that one stacks better than the other?

Any input would be rad.

200 Motels, not to be rude, but you're kinda making a big deal about a small difference in not-that-expensive chips. I mean, if you were buying like 2,000 ex-casino Paulsons for like $6,000, then yea, you should make a big deal to make sure you know exactly what you're getting before you buy. But there is not a lot of difference between the Nexgens.

I would say the Bee's are slightly slipperier, because they aren't textured like the originals are. So For slickness go with the originals.
You're ALWAYS better off buying some inexpensive samples about the chips in question, than actually taking someone's word on the chips. The Bee's are like $0.23 or so a chip, so buy some and try it yourself!! The originals are like $0.20 or so a chip, so buy some samples and see. What can be more accurate than just buying samples and seeing the chips right in front of you?? You can do all the slickness tests, sound, damage tests, ect.

Why ask when you can see???

Go with the originals for less slickness, although both chips are slippery compared to ceramics or clay.

Yea Yea, I know it's kind of a minor difference.

I'm on a pretty tight budget so that's why I'm trying to research the chips as thoroughly as possible before buying them. Also the reason I haven't bought samples.

Call me a responsible consumer, but I think it's a wise move to make sure to know exactly what you're getting before you buy anything.

I think I might get samples of the Bee's and if they're too slick, I'll get a set of the originals.

Sorry to spam the forum. Razz

Thanks again for the advise.

5stardeal sells them individually, so you can buy like 20 for $15, shipped and taxed. Try there.

I also prefer the originals mold and looks, I think the Bee's look kinda funky, but it's all opinions when it comes to looks.

My order actually came to $7.85 Canadian for 14 chips shipped.

Should only be a couple business days.

I'm hesitant to order from 5star cuz they ship from the US and I could get dinged by customs.

No fun.

You're kinda lucky you didn't post these topics at Chiptalk, because they probably would have beaten you half to death with "BUY SAMPLES!!!!!!!", which is correct.(Ask 99%evil, he would tell you chiptalk's opinions on buying samples!!) You're ALWAYS better off buying some inexpensive samples about the chips in question, than actually taking someone's word on the chips. Not sure why you jumped on him like this for such a simple question. You're right, buying samples is the best way to go, but there's nothing wrong with asking questions on sites like this (and chiptalk) to focus your search and limit the number of samples you end up buying, if desired. I'm an active member on Chiptalk and I'd have to say that people there would not have scolded him for asking this very question. Yes, they may have suggested samples, but he'd get his answer without being abused.

I rec'd samples of the Nexgen Originals, and the Bees today.

I have to admit that they both look great but I seem to like the appearance of the Bees still.

The texture on the Bees actually supprized me as they have a crosshatched texture similar to the originals, but it's finer which makes them, not slick, but not as sticky as the originals.

I took the two stacks and put them on my table side by side, and gradually tilted the table up to see which would slide/spill first. Of course the Bees spilled. Weird but I ran the same test with my dice chips and the black & blue ones were last to spill of all of them. They're not sticky, like have anything on them, they always did stack nice, but they're worked in, I guess.

Also in blind test, you can easily tell them apart when rubbing two chips together.

I think I might have to get the originals because they stack sooo nicely.

I'll mess with them more, and keep yas posted. Razz

Nice choice, 200 Motels. Good job on buying the samples and checking them out yourself! I always liked the originals better. I thnk they have a far superior mold, and I love the textured surface they have, it feels closer to a textured clay chip. I also like the simple edgespots of the originals. Be sure to tell us if and when you buy a set! Are you planning on getting a custom sticker for the inlay?

Yea, I'm really growing fond of the originals, but the Bees look so nice stacked. I prolly go with the originals tho, cuz they feel nicer and stack better. The edgespots aren't bad either.

I am thinking of getting lables for them. Just a simple diamond design with the denoms. Was also thinking of the laurel design but it's not really original.

I hear Lynbark does impressive work.

Lynbark is good. Go to homepoketourney.com, they have a guy who does labels and everyone who uses him seems very happy with their labels. My chips have a laurel on them, it looks ok. I like it because it's a classic design. Mine also have dice on the bottom and says "poker". I like this design because it combines gambling (dice and "poker") and the classical sophistication of the wreath. Post pics when you get them labeled!
