No more online poker |
|
Well I have finally done it. I have quit online poker and am sticking entirely with brick and mortar casinos. Why I quite you ask. Mainly the in-ability to do better than break even over the long haul as compared with my results in real casinos. The last straw was when I went 0 for 75 catching the flush when playing suited hole cards online. Out of these 75 times I flopped 4 to the flush only 4 times. It has been real and fun but not real fun. I will not miss it.

ok when you are seeing 40 hands per hour at you casino game trying to beat their rediculas rake i'll be seeing 200+ hands an hour beating there rake, and making a lot of money...
Stop blaming bad luck as the reasdon for loosing blame your own play...
I'm not trying to sound like an ass i'm only speaking the blunt truth and sometimes you don't really need a hand job you need slapped...
you kno since you are new here post some hands i'll go though them and look for any leaks...

so you'll go 0 for 75 in brick in mortar casinos but it will be a slow, drawn out process of losing!
just messing, just have a little faith.

I was not looking or asking for sympathy. I am just stating that I do much better playing live than I do online and that is the main reason. You have to admit 0 for 75 is quite unusual given the fact that if you play suited cards you will hit a flush on the turn 19.1 % of the time. I first started playing online 10 to 20 per week about a year ago and like I said before I am up maybe 100.00 over about an eight month period. I started playing live in July when my local casino boats started poker rooms. Over the past 5 months I average playing 5 to 10 hrs per week. I am taking home on average 26.00 per hr.
I am not in it for the money. It is just a leisurly hobby that I enjoy, much more live, than online. By the way you did sound like an ass but I did not take it personally. P.S. I think I spelled leisurly wrong.

well i guess good luck making money in the long run... none of my advice would do any good because it is geared to poker players wanting to make money and are in it for money...
I personaly live off poker so my prospectus on how to play is much diffrent and my priorites are diffrent then say you or a player that does it as a hobby and is in it more for entertainment...
I'm also good with pyshcology, you would do bettor live because it is less aggrisive and slower paced, plus it is more socaly enjoyable then playing online... Many of my friends i have never met in person, however i talk to them every day over vent, or someonther voice over Internet program...
Online is not for everyone i'll admit it, this is based on prioties and why you play poker. You play for social reasons, i play for the competive aspect more importantly money... so online doesn't bother me, i see many more hands per hour, the more hands i can mathmaticly increase my win rate, or minimize my looses given i'm playing perfect or close to perfect poker...
So here is my advice to everyone reading this not just orginal poster, ask your self "Why do i play poker?"... i know my answers what are yours?

ridiculous |

I am sorry but this is ridiculous, if you are loosing online you WILL lose in a brick and mortar casino. And the rake is double at a casino, and oh let's not forget tipping and other exspenses that casinos try and push on you.
And i want to see your stats, cause frankly i don't believe them.
if you want to improve your game then you should invest in poker tracker
and examine which hands are costing you money and where your game is
suffering.
You just sound like a guy who looses alot and writes posts on tilt.
and no one cares that you don't want to play online.
stop whining.

I agree, people seem to forget about the higher rake and tipping when they talk about how easy brick and mortar games can be.

Plus you have to (or at least should) tip the dealer. If your more of a logical player than an intuitive player, I think online is much better because there is no human element.

Not even going to start on the price of gas. Most people don't live right down the street from a casino.
