PL vs. NL - Online |
|
Has anyone noticed online, in low limits, that there are alot more players to the flop in a Pot Limit Hold'em game, vs. a No Limit Hold'em game?
It's not like Pot Limit is a anything like fixed limit, because you can bet the amount of the pot at any time. In No Limit, you wouldn't really want to bet more than the pot at any time.
Lots more fish. Has anyone noticed this?

I think I know what u mean. It's weird because it's not like limit, where you can see flops a little cheaper, but it can be just like no-limit where you have to pay more money to see the flop.

Exact.
In PL more people will call a raise it seems. PL Omaha is even looser.

PL was designed that way. In PL, you're never getting worse than 2:1 odds, plus there is of course a limit to what you can raise, so more ppl will tend to call at least one raise in PL pre-flop. Especially PL Omaha where beginners just really want to see flops with their pretty looking hands.
So I strongly agree that there are more callers pre-flop in PL, especially Omaha, than in NL.

PL HE is lame. It'll take me too long explain why, so if you wanna know, ill let you find out for yourself.
Omaha is generally a high action high variance game. So many see the flop becuase there are so many different possible hands out there. Also its a bit harder that holdem, so amateurs will see it regardless of what they have.
The game is also VERY profitable.

Absolutely, alot of people think that omaha is a game of luck, no skill. But what does that say about players like Chau Giang and Robert Williamson, both with a huge pot omaha resume. Truth is, its more skill then holdem is and patience as well.

What baffles me is why the same raise doesn't get called in NL HE, and does get called in PL HE. It it just worse players in PL because they think they can't lose alot of money?

C'mon, tell us why. I think it's more profitable than NL. Save me money and tell me why. LOL

#1 reason - You can't shove your aces all-in PF.
