Poker Table Top - Preferences |
|
I have a few questions to pose to those of you with an opinion about Poker.
I have been looking around at table tops and I still like mine very much. My problem is it is great to keep at my house and to pull out when I have a game at home. It is not easy to take to someone else's place. The fact that it is heavy makes it very stable while we play.
Question 1
Would you rather have a nicer, heavier table top like mine or a folding top like this guy's assuming both had the same number of sides, etc...
Here's Mine
Here's the one I'm looking at copying the style of.
Question 2
Cup holder on the right or the left in every position, or put them together in a corner so that half are on the right and half are on the left so that two neighbors drinks are right next to each other and thus less likely to be knocked over.
Thanks a bunch

One other quick question.
Would you rather have chip wells, or just a flat surface to stack chips on.
Thanks,

well i go with the hevyer nicer table, even thoe it be harder to move, also i do not like chip well much, so i would not use them, i find it harder to see how many chips other people have, and i have no opionion on cup holder b/c i dont allow eating or drinking at the table, i make people set the food away and they can eat for a dintace away and still see whats happening (this rule i put into use after people got crumbs and spilled drink on my table)

I like the second table... it's much simpler and, IMHO, much more pleasing to the eye.
Besides that, I like how it doesn't "force" the player to do anything. It doesn't give chip racks (something I never use, even when available), and it doesn't have a cupholder. I think it's a much better solution. Beer goes wherever someone wants it (just give 'em a coaster!), and the chips stack how they please.
If you have enough room in the room that you are using, you might want to consider some smaller tables for drinks, rather than the main table. So put a lower table between two chairs, and then another between two other chairs, and etc. This keeps the beer off the Poker Table, and clearly dilineates whose drink is whose. I would consider that the optimal solution.

I also think that drinks on a table isn't cool. But if you put in cup holders i would put them in the corners. I prefer sitting with the cup holder right infront of me so that theres plenty of room to rest my arms on the table. But also if there at the corners your idea could work too.
