Hi. I just started learned jump and masse shots. I read that it would damage the table by doing so. How much would it damage the table? I heard you could use a spare piece of cloth from the table but I dont have any. Is there anything else I could use?

it wouldnt damage the table Too much, usually jump shots just leave a small dent on the slates....u can use spare clot or felt, stuff like that would help the table not get as damaged...

masses damage the table because its a downward stroke, first of all the ball heads straight down which might do a little something, but comes up and causes spin, also if done incorrectly and not pulling up the cue in time, it might strike down on the table, causing a little damage to the tip, a dent on the slates, and possibly tearing the cloth

you can use any piece of felt, you don't absolutely need a pool felt piece.
