Post Sreen's Chip Review Topic Reply with quote
YaY !! My 1,000 post !!
And what better way to celebrate then with an extremly usefull topic!
Here ill put down some of my reviewed chips. Photo's are comming soon! Be sure to check out the chip rating section of this site too!!

Here are the reviews:
Dessert Sands:
Look:
This chip has a nice clean appearance with a nice but not to annoying picture on it. Also the chip displays the value of the chips which makes it ideal for tournament poker.

Feel:
I like the feel of this chip. The surface of the chip give plenty of grip for chip tricks. The chip lies comfortable in the hand and is easily tossed for a bet for instance.

Weight:
The chip, in my opinion, is somewhat on the light side, but that depends on taste and own favour. I simply like a heavier chip more, the chip however is not too light.

Sound:
The chip kind of makes a ‘clink’ for a sounds, this comes from the chip being on the light side and having it made out of one material. If hear better sounds, but its ok.

Price:
I think it is a decent price for this kind of chip. You get good quality with, if you use them normally, a good durability.

Total:
This is a fine chip which can easily be used in home tournament games or normal home games. It has a nice appearance and has a solid surface. This chip is ideal if you want to step up a grade with chips but aren’t ready for the professional chips yet. But this is a chip that will impress for sure.

Pro Tiki Kings:
Look:
This chip is an easy but sophisticated looking chip. It has a Tiki head on it along with the value of the chip. This makes the chip good for tournament poker. I like the fact that the side markings of this chip are not straight lines as they usually are but more diagonal.

Feel:
This chip has a very nice feel to it. The surface had a lot of grip making it a good chip for chip tricks. Only down side is that you can feel an edge on the side of the chip where the picture ends.

Weight:
Again, in my opinion this chip is some what on the light side, but that is to everyone’s liking. The chip is not too light.

Sound:
This chip has, because it is made from the same light material, a ‘clink’ to it. I don’t find it bad, don’t find it good either. Just a decent sound.

Price:
I think that you get what you pay for with this chip. It’s a decent chip with a decent price.

Total:
The Pro Tiki King Chip is a good chip which look extremely nice has a good durability making it an ideal chip for home tournaments or home games. This chip is for the people who what an upgrade to there chipset but aren’t ready for the professional chips yet.

4 Aces:
Look:
The chip has a nice look. It has the 4 different aces on them which gives it a more poker themed look. It also displays a value of the chip so it is a chip suitable for tournament poker too.

Feel:
The chip feels quite nice. It has a smooth surface which makes it a more difficult chip to do chip tricks with. But is a chip that lies comfortable in the hand.

Weight:
This chip has a very nice weight. It’s a bit heavier then you would expect but I like heavy chips so it didn’t bother me. For me this is an ideal weight.

Sound:
I think this chip has the classic sound to it. A medium tone ‘clink’ which is nice to listen too. Good sound in my opinion.

Price:
Bit pricey but defiantly worth it. It’s a decent chip. Although the image of them won’t last that long. So if you are looking for a long term chip it is a bit pricey.

Total:
This is a very decent chip with good quality of chip, but the image leaves so points to work on. Because these are not very durable. So for a long term chip it isn’t that good. This is a nice chip for if you want something else in your home games but don’t want to go to amateur chips. I reckon this is still a beginner chip.

BR Pro Tournament Chip:
Look:
This is a very pretty looking chip. It has a nice design with the spade worked into the image giving it a poker themed look. It also displays the value making, as the name already says, a good poker tournament chip.

Feel:
This chip has a nice feeling to it. It has no edges to it and it has a surface which provides enough grip for chip tricks.

Weight:
This is a chip which falls in the lighter class of chips. But certainly is not to light for a chip. Just a matter of personal taste.

Sound:
Because this chip is made from one material it has got the high tone ‘clink’ too it. Not the best sound but good none the less.
Price:
I think it is a fair price for this kind of chip. It has good quality and long durability.

Total:
A very decent chip which has a cool look to it. The chip is good quality and nice to play with. Definatly a good buy. Especially for tournament poker.

BR Costa Palma Casino:
Look:
This is one of the most attractive chips I have seen. It has a cool image and a nice colour scheme. It doesn’t show a value on the chip. So it would be less suitable for tournament poker but more for home games.

Feel:
The chip has a good feeling to it. It does have the feel of a slight edge on the side but that is not disturbing. It has a good grip on the surface making is a good chip for chip tricks.

Weight:
This chip is one of the not so heavy chips, but sure is a nice weight to feel in your hand.

Sound:
The chip has, because of it made out of ceramic, a light ‘clink’ to it. But with this chip any other sound would be a strange hearing. Good sound.

Price:
The price of this chip is a decent price for such a chip. It is a good quality and will last long. A nice step up from your beginner set of chips.

Total:
This is an excellent chip which is worth every penny. It is nice to see and plays terrific.
A real recommendation if you plan to buy chips for your home game.

Paulson Top hat & Cane:
Look:
This is a very nice looking chip. The chip has a more upper-class look to it with a nice colour scheme. It displays the value on the chip, making it an excellent chip for tournament poker.

Feel:
This was quite surprising to me. I found that the Paulson chip had a sort of wooden feel to it. I thought this was kind of weird. But after some fiddling around with it I noticed that this actually was quite a nice feel. It has a good grip on the surface and this combined with his wooden feel makes it a good chip for chips tricks.

Weight:
The chip has a nice weight, not too heavy, not too light. Just a good weight.

Sound:
The chip has a standard poker chip sound too it. Which pleases me very much.

Price:
These chips are a bit expensive but you get a lot for the price so I think it is a fair price. You get a good quality chip with long durability. And it looks very nice too.

Total:
This chip is one of the best I encountered so far. It has a sophisticated look to it, it last long and it a nice chip to do chip trick. This is definitely a chip too impress. A good buy if you have some money and you want one of the best chips out there.

Vegas Choppers:
Look:
I think this chip has a ‘gangster’ factor to it. I a mafia movie now a days was made and they would play poker I would imagine seeing this chip. A very nice design with a nice colour scheme. No values are displayed on the chip so I would not recommend them for tournament poker. But for home games they are more then suitable.

Feel:
This chip has quite a nice feel to it. It has a some what smoother surface making it a bit difficult to do chip tricks with, but they are easy to do any way.

Weight:
The weight of this chip is good. It is not a heavy chip, but not a light one either. Just a good weight.

Sound:
This chip has a nice medium tone ‘clink’ to it. Making it sound very natural.

Price:
I think the price of this chip is very reasonable. You get a nice quality chip which can last very long. And it has a nice graphic on it too.

Total:
I think this is a very nice looking chip which will last long and is very sweet to play with. This is a recommendation for your ‘gangster’ poker party you have at your place.

Big Slick:
Look:
This chip has got an ordinary look to it. It does have nice edge spots on it. But that’s about it. Although they tried to give it a better look with the Aces and Kings engraved to it. But it doesn’t do much for the chip. It doesn’t have a value on it, but it has a centre that allows labels to be put on it. So a practical chip for tournament and home game poker.

Feel:
The chip has got a plastic feel to it. It is a smooth surface which makes it a bit difficult to do chip tricks with. But it is ok.

Weight:
The chip has a reasonable weight which is one of the good points of the chip.

Sound:
The chip has, unlike to what you would expect, a light tone ‘clink’ to it. I dislike this very much in this chip because the sound doesn’t match the chip. A chip like this should have a medium tone ‘clink’ at least in my opinion.

Price:
It is one of the cheaper chips but it show too. You get a chip that is durable but I don’t think it got that much quality. However if you want a poker set just for fun games once in a while you’d have enough with this chip.

Total:
A fairly standard chip with nothing special to it. Nice if you want a beginner chip but if you play regularly I would recommend a other chip. Because this just wont do it.

NextGen Bee:
Look:
This chip has a very clean appearance. Nothing to fancy, no extreme graphical prints of some sort. Just 3 simple stripes and bee engraved in the outer ring of the chip. It does not display the value of the chip but it has a centre which allows labelling. So a very practical chip for home games and tournament poker.

Feel:
I can’t explain this but if you take hold of this chip it has something that makes you think ‘ahhh that feels nice’. The chip provides enough grip for chip tricks. And lies extremely fine in the hand.

Weight:
The chip has a very good weight. It is not too heavy but also not to light. So I am happy with the weight of this chip.

Sound:
The chip has a medium tone ‘clink’ to it which pleases me very much. It is a sound that really belongs to this chip. Any other sound would have been just wrong.

Price:
One of the upper-class price chips. But it is worth every penny. You get extreme quality and durability with this nice looking chip.

Total:
A chip where you could instantly fall in love with. It’s good looking has a nice feel to it and lasts a long time. I would recommend this chip anytime.

Archtype:
Look:
The look on this chip is amazing. It is very stylishly decorated but in such a way it keeps a sophisticated look to it. Very clean design. A nice touch to the chip is that the value is not only shown on the front and the back of the chip but also between the edge spots making it a very nice chip for tournament poker and home games.

Feel:
The feel of this chip is good. It has a surface with good grip making it an excellent chip for chip tricks. The chip make you want to hold the chips longer then you are suppose too.

Weight:
The weight of this chip is nice. It is a bit on the light side. But it will do.

Sound:
The chip has a light tone ‘clink’ too it. Which disappoints me a little bit? But it is not disturbing.

Price:
Well this chip is a bit expensive but so is a villa. This is one of the top notch chips so you will have to pay a bit more. But it is more then worth it. With his good quality and durability this surely is a good buy.

Total:
An above average to a excellent chip. For sure one in his kind with the beautiful design and the lovely feel. If you want to impress or just won’t settle for kiddie stuff. This is the chip to buy.
