Post Trick shot Modifications for table size? Reply with quote
I have been looking at the ATSA program shots, been having some trouble with them. I'm assuming these shots are set for a 9ft table. I am assuming that modifications are necessary to complete them on an 8ft table. Any suggestions regarding what kinds of modifications should be made for them? I'm assuming it's mainly the angle's and slight position changes. Is there anything else I should be considering in this?

it's obvious that if u play on a smaller table, ur massé's for example do not have to travel a lot of distance. when you play on a 9 ft table they travel almost twice the distance for some shots compared to a 7ft table i think. but in the setupshots, few things change i guess. it's really a matter of practice practice practice. i myself am practicing all the shots on a 8 ft table before making my step towards the 9 ft. although i can already make some difficult shots on a 9ft.

i hope this clarifies your question a little? Smile

by the way, if u play the shot shown in eric yow's last video where the CB catches up to the 1ball and both potting in the far corner...

it's obvious that this shot is harder to do on a small table. you need to make a shorter, more powerful arch. thus requiring a different stroke.
but this is just my 2 cents opinion :p

some might disagree with me, since i haven't played on a 7ft that much.
