The Desert Palms come in two variations http://www.thechiproom.com/ . One is the casino version which is a Bluechip chip, it has hot stamped low denoms and is a "true" clay chip. Then there's the oddly named "Real Clay" Desert Palm...which is a plastic chip that's more like a Nexgen. These have vinyl labels on them and are injection molded as opposed to the compression molded "casinos" with real inlays.
It's easy to tell the difference. The "real clay" ones cost .25 a piece while the "casino" ones cost .95 each. You get what you pay for.
the best part at that site...if you buy 500 chips @.95 each it's $475...if you buy the 500 piece set it's 479.99. Huh? I'm hoping they throw in a $5 case for the extra money...it doesn't say it though....funny.

RThe Palm Import and Da Vinci chips are a compression molded chip from china. Not like the Desert palm "real clays" which are plastic. The PI and Da Vinci chips are supoosed to be similar to blue chip clays, though from pics I've seen the quality still looks a bit suspect. THey come in the verizon logo mold like the Da Vincis and the key mold that PI had done. They first came as flame molds...a direct rip off of blue chip...they must have retooled quickly before the fit hit the shan. Of course it is China...they don't seem to care about copyrights. But they are supposed to be another option for "true" clay. They can be had in solid too, coming shortly from PI. For about .30 a chip, not bad for real-ish clay. I may scoop up 500 for the hell of it. They'll have recessed centers for labelling.

About 900+ Nexgen with paper labels, 600 Nevada Jacks Skulls, Some samples, some casino chips, and about 45 decks of paper cards, some sealed and not canceled by the casino. Two setsups of Copag, One deck of kem blue arrows and one deck of Royal Plastics.
I'm ordering more Nexgens within the next couple days. Mostly Blue 500s, and a couple Yellow 1000s. Also getting some vinyl labels for some of them, as not all of the Nexgens are labeled.

My new Chips finally reached german customs....and of course got stuck there. I'll pick them up on monday (after paying 19% taxes of the value  )

Got my new chips out of customs today, which lesd me to an idea.
Shouldn't we have a little Chip collection contest? We should limit the number of pictures allowed per person and set a deadline so everybody got time to take new pics.
I'd donate some casino chips for the prices.

It's basically who's willing to spend more money on chips. Not everyone could get a fair shot. Doesn't require any skill or talent except maybe if you designed them yourself from scratch.

My friend from Austin, Texas just arrived. I'm looking at my new chips right now and even though my jaw is like hanging all the way down to the floor you could still fit a banana sidways right into my mouth because of that enormous grin I can't get out of my face.
I'll be pretty busy with my visitors but I'll try to take the time to post a first pic today

This is awesome: I was worried if I had paid way too much for the chips. Now it turns out that at least half of the chips are uncirculated/mint condition. That was a damn good buy.
Does anybody know that $500 Paulson fantasy chip on the last picture? Never seen those.

You know, I do notice something in that last picture. That one $500 chip looks exactly like one of the old original Paulson Casino de Isthmus chips.

I know the old Paulson de Isthmus chips, bought them on ebay (of course not the chips shown in the movie License To Kill, but the replicas Paulson manufactured in 1998). I have a some 50c chips, and one of each $1, $5, $25, $100, $500. The set is not complete yet, I'm still searching for a $1000 chip. There are also $10 chips in the movie, but I think Paulson did not make any replicas of them.

You guys dug out a pretty oldass post here.
What used to be my favorite thread.
How 'bout some pics of my new violin case that I finished last week. Right now holding 100 peach cherries, 180 starbursts and 20 green tourney chips from the Grand Casino Biloxi to fill up the case.
both starbursts and cherries are waiting to grow to playable sets. So if anybody has hotstamped Paulson starbursts or cherries (Eman? ), that he wants to sell, let me know
