Your Poker Pet Peeves |

It's kinda of a negative topic, but we should all be able to get a laugh out of it.
Let everyone know what annoys you when playing poker. Bad beats and suckouts don't count.
Here's a couple of mine.
When players make names for hands (eg. K2 = The Mountain)
When people call duces, doonies.
When players quote the movie Rounders.
When people want to play a Sit n Go starting sacks of 50 chips of equal value
When people criticize bad plays.
Online: When people min bet top pair.
What bugs you at the table?

- Paul Magrill (Quack Quack, Rainbow Bets)
- When people scream and shout and dance around the table when they win a hand
- When people limp with Aces
- When people wear sunglasses at the table
- When people will not shut up at the table
- When people complain about bad beats constantly (That's poker, s*** happens)
- When people stack their chips in 10s and they pile up all over the table.
- When people use silly card protectors (All you need is a chip)
- When people just stack their chips and put them down when betting or calling instead of just splashing them or breaking them in front of you so people, including the dealer, know how much you're betting
- When people overlook the fact that pot odds aren't in their favor and they call big bets, all-ins especially, on draws
- When people try to mimmick other pros, especially Raymer with those glasses
- When people turn up one ace then they reveal the other ace (Robery Varkonyi at the '02 WSOP), just flip your cards up like a normal person does
- The term "donkey" especially when misused
- People who constantly look back at their hands
- People who really, REALLY, squeeze out their hole cards and take like two minutes to act on their hand
- Hollywooding, bad Hollywooding
- Long lines at the bathroom
- People who wear Elmo heads when playing, if I see one, I just wanna bash it's head in like Layne Flack
- People who stand up during all-ins, especially when they're not all-in, I won't stand up until the final card has fallen for me
- And finally...Phil Hellmuth
I could go on and on and on, alot of things annoy me, and if you do any of the things I just listed, I guess that makes you a sucker.

Man, I thought I only had a few peeves, but after reading this I realized there are a ton of things that piss me off.
When people question my calls
“How could you call my bet with 7-8? What a lousy call.”
Yeah, you're right. Can you pass the rest of your chips over to me?
People who just WILL NOT turn their hand over unless you turn yours over FIRST.
Just flip the goddamn things over.
Dealers who spend an eternity looking at the flop, turn, and river cards BEFORE turning the cards up on the table for everyone else to see.
EDIT: Here's a vid of what I'm talking about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aADzROvinVs
(note: person in video is NOT ME ! )
People who lose a regular hand (not an all-in showdown) and SWEAR they got sucked out just because they lost the hand.
Christ, I won with a pair of sixes on the river and you’re pissed because you lost with king high? Grow up.
Rabbit hunting (when someone folds a hand but yet insists on seeing “what would’ve happened” by turning over the flop, turn, and river cards… just for “fun”).
Anybody who enjoys rabbit hunting needs to be thrown from a cliff while screaming.
When people question my bets.
“Why didn’t you bet on the turn?”
Because I just didn’t, scumbag. Now go get me a drink while I count all the chips I just won off you.
People who just cannot add up their chips in under an hour.
People who sit there for 5 minutes acting as if they’re gonna call a bet, but know damn well they aren’t gonna call an all-in bet with something like Q5.
WTF are you thinking about? Just fold your hand.
This is similar to one of the above peeves, but deserves to mentioned by itself…. when people act like they’ve lost a hand, only to reveal their winning hand AS YOU’RE RAKING IN THE POT. This is sometimes done intentionally and unintentionally. Either way, you’re an asshole no matter how you look at it.
This became so bad at my last poker game that I told everyone that “if you sit there and look at the board for more than 3 seconds without turning your hand over, I’m taking the pot”. Don’t like it? Then go pound salt up your ass.
People who can’t pay attention to the game because they’re eating, talking, or just had wayyyy to much to drink.
People who request a “smoke break” every 10 minutes.
For God’s sake, the poker game is only gonna last one hour. Can you not go one lousy hour without smoking?
Kinda similar to the last peeve, but I can’t stand people who leave the table every goddamn hand for one reason or another to get a drink, take a piss, smoke a cigarette, talk to people who aren’t playing poker, etc… meanwhile, everyone else is waiting on you to act on your hand.
People who don’t call their hand properly.
Example: “I have 2 pair……………….. oh wait, I have a full house!”
Hmm, sounds like a losing hand because you didn't call your hand right!
And finally, once again, people who don’t pay attention to what’s going on!
You have to yell at them 12 times to let them know “Hey retard, it’s your turn to act.” Then, they ask; “OK, who’s in? What’s the bet? Who raised? Did he fold? What’s the blind?” …. Ugh!

Yes, now I see what you mean, annoying.
But no one in my opinion is worse than my one friend, well, he's really my brother's friend. Anyway, he makes a living out of bugging people, especially at the Poker Table. He has a habit of stealing others chips, when he deals, sometimes he'll look at your cards before dealing them to you, when he's out of course, and then he'll place all the cards on the table before it's even time to deal the flop. He just loves to annoy people.

Yea especially when you're sitting next to them. Drunk B/O.
At the Imperial Palace there was this one smelly drunk guy sitting next to me from NY at $2/$4 limit. He kept going on how he used to sell coke to some celebs wife or something and he was constantly slowing down the game by his retarded ramblings. Thankfully he was swearing constantly, and he was kicked out after his 10th warning. He was playing blind for a while which was profitable but not a fair compromise when u have to sit next to the bastard.

I feel that anything can go. But there are a couple of things that are incredibly douchey.
- Taking a while pre-flop to act. I mean, really, unless u raise pre-flop and take a while to think about how much u want to pop it up, or go all-in, there is absolutely no reason to take a long time to call or fold.
- Talking about a hand while it's in progress and there is other people in the hand. You don't want people pissed off at u at the table because ur talking during a hand and giving away information.
- Braging about how good u can read somebody. Whoopdy f***ing doo. Chances are, I already know what he has and i found out what u know along time ago. Or u could be wrong, so u should shut ur damn mouth anyways to save urself embarrasment.
- Verbally saying something like, "All-In" and just saying that u were joking.
Thats about it, alot of things don't make me as mad as these ones.

- People who announce what they folded during a hand is the one I hate the most!
