Poker Chip Tricks - Roll |
|
Having your own poker chips is the first step to learning different tricks.
This is because all the tricks require practice.
Some people are able to practice while playing poker
but I prefer to keep my mind on the game
and practice new tricks away from the table.
Don't get me wrong, I do poker chip tricks
at the table but these are tricks
that I can do without thinking about.
New tricks require a different kind of practice.

Poker Chip Roll Stepsnman84 describes the chip roll in detail:I only have that espn clip you linked to me. If you look at his espn clip in slow motion (frame by frame) you can see it from the font view how he does it, that's pretty much how I learned. It will roll fine on any surface but too make it stop under your hand you need a softer surface. Trying to stop it on a glass surface for instance is too hard to do and it just slips out from underneath. Works better on table cloth. I think the hardest part of the trick is stopping them with out having them fall over. I am also using the 11.5 gram chips so maybe that's why it's easier since it is not rounded The only way I can explain it is: 1. Hold the chips with your thumb and index finger 2. Place the pinky side of your hand on the table, do not hold up your hand in the air! (Middle and ring finger should not be in dropping path of chips) 3. Drop the chips one by one starting fromt the front (closest to the fingertip) 4. Let it hit your pinky and from there it should propel it across the table. 5. Catch them with your other hand however you like. ( In the ESPN clip they stop the chips under their hands while still it the upright position) *I hope that helps. I find that whenever the chips hit the middle or ring finger first, the chip curves when rolling. (I'm not sure if that is the cause).
