You get what you paid for.

A friend of mine just got a set of those Chips. I kinda like the material and the edgespot design. Stacks look nice too. The stickers suck big time though. Nice for shuffeling but they suck when it comes to any other trick. But at this price I would consider to buy a set to strip them and label them with customized labels. But bottom line is: These Chips are low quality Chips. But with 35 Dollars, that's what You paid for. There are definitely worse deals out there.

    Smell The Glue
    by Scruffy @ 10, Sep 2006

    Price: 3/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 2/5

I bought a 500 set of these having shopped around on the net for 9g chips and they looked perfect and fantastic value as I stupidly assumed the centre pattern was printed, but to my horror on opening the case (good quality for the price)the Smell Of The Glue alerted me to the fact that it was holding The 'STICKERS' to the chips. Having easily pealed away the sticker from 1 chip it felt better as the STICKER makes them feel, well sticky but it does not look great as the molding point and finish are uneven and ugly, what a pity but because they feel great and sound good I will strip them all check out http://www.akkointernational.com/pokerse ts_alum_9g.html to see then stripped

    9 gram Pro Vegas
    by Alan @ 24, Aug 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 3/5

I love the design, muted colors and feel. That being said...I recieved samples from Poker N Stuff. Then purchased what I though was the same from e-bay. Is it possible that there are knock offs of even the less expensive chips? I can only imagine that there is only one manufacture of these over seas and many different importers. Or, does Poker N Stuff select the best possible chips out of a batch and send those? They do not seem like the same chips. Am I nuts? Has any one else experienced this?

I wish I read this reviews before I purchased from Ultimatepokerdeals.com. Their site looks nice but their service is poor. I received a defective set. I warn you not to buy from them.

I'll have to agree with the person below who wrote about Ultimatepokerdeals.com. They are terrible. Their reps are rude. Buy elsewhere. As for the chips, I like em. I bought em from another online site and the price was $99. Great value, good feel.

    by notoriousbvg @ 28, May 2005

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

I own an 1100 piece set, and for my money, these are the best of "cheap" chips on the market. Obviously no chip can really compare to the Paulsons (which is what I am really looking forward to getting) but as far as an affordable set, this is it. The chips are lighter than most, but actually feel more "real" if you are familiar with casino chips. In my set, the 10s and 25s have a more "hard edge" while the 100s and 500s are more rounded at the edges. Thats really he only thing that bothers me about them. Great look, feel, and quality. If you are thinking about spending $100 bucks on a set, definitly go with these ones.

    Don't by from Ultimatepokerdeals
    by Alexis Barzky @ 22, May 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 4/5

Do not buy from ultimatepokerdeals.com. I almost bought these chips from them but they have such bad customer service over there. The phone number never works and they take forever to respond. I also paid for samples and they never sent it. Over the past year I've bought from both pokerandstuff and pokerbargains.com. They are much better. Prices are better, service is better, everything is better. As for the chips, I just got them and they are nice. Not as heavy as I'd liek but i knew they were 9g.

Liked chips for price, but some smeared...
    by ShortStack @ 13, Mar 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 3/5

I like my chip set...they came with a couple of decks of "good" (plastic?)playing cards. Not the Bicylce brand cards you can buy at the grocery store. Good feel, Sound, and Weight for price. Only problem I had was on the white chips where some of my black stripes arrived smeared on to the white portion of the chip (before even using them). The other color chips were fine. Also a few of the inlays on the white chips has stuff sticking out of them (string/hair?). Might just be a bad run. Overall I am still very happy with it. Can't wait to hold my first tourney. Now to find a table...:)

    I LOVE MINE
    by KingZilla @ 06, Mar 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

I actually have the Royal Flush design of these chips (same as the Las Vegas). I sold my 11.5 gm chips after I got these. I haven't broken any in half to inspect the interior, but the feel and sound is MUCH better than the abs/composite 11.5's. I was tired of the "coin" sound they made, with the metal inserts. These chips stack nicely and handle well. The abs chips are so hard and slick, I routinely see stacks of them "exploding" from players hands. Not so with these. I am completly satisfied with these chips but give the "Appearance" and "Quality" a next best 4 rating only because I noticed a couple of chips that had minor color variations. I got 1000 chips custom configured for tourneys (in 2 aluminum cases) for only $130 - shipped to my door. Perhaps a few bucks more than abs chips but well worth it (I admit I got a bargain price). I don't know if they are composed of the same material as Paulsons, but they are close enough, especially at this price.

    vegas pro/premium series chips
    by CalgaryDave @ 18, Feb 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

I in fact do own a set of both the Vegas Pro and Vegas Premium series chips. They are fantastic chips. Often the two are mixed up though. The Pro series has a larger outer ring and has double stripes on it. The Vegas Premium has a smaller ring and single stripes. Also on the whites ($1), the premium series is grey on the side and the vegas pro its black. But both are excellent chips. As for clay or not..like one poster said "whats real clay anyways..??) and as for the weight...REAL casino chips are only between 8 and 10 grams..not these 11.5 gm plastic "clay composite" crap which is just a plastic resin surrounding a metal slug insert...THOSE are the crap chips. THese vegas pro and vegas premium stack beautifully!! sound awesome...and at 12 bucks per 50...I'd say the best bang for your buck hands down!!

Great Chip if you get chips from a good run
    by Barfield @ 31, Jan 2005

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

I have the "Las Vegas Premier 9g Pro" chips (these are different from the picture in that they only have 4 edge spots & the center sticker is larger). The pictured chip is generally describe by sellers as the "Las Vegas 9g Pro" chips. The chips are excellent, the colors on the chips are vibrant, deep dark red on the $5s, & deep dark blues & greens on the $10s & $25s. The problem comes in trying to add to the set. Many of the chips sold do not have the same vibrant colors as my chips. The $25 green chips and $5 red chips are not near as vibrant. In fact I have even found that all of the $1 chips have grey edge spots where my set has black edge spots on the $1 chips. If you look on ebay all the pictures show black edge spots on the $1 chips but after asking many of the sellers I was told by all that their $1 chips have the grey edge spots. Local shops also have only the $1 grey edge spot chips & chips with washed out colors. Great chips but might be hard to match chips later.

    Almost
    by KenN @ 22, Dec 2004

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 2/5 Quality: 4/5

So what if they're not "clay"? Who knows what "clay" is anyway? I recently held a lightweight Paulson hat and cane chip. This 9-gram import "Vegas" chip came really close. I even find the acetate overlay covering the label an acceptable imitation of a vinyl insert. But I think the clip art graphics and cartoony typeface for the denominations ruin what would otherwise be the best value in a non-metal home chip. The solid-color centers on the plain version of these (in my samples) is of inconsistent print quality and poor coverage. Instead of giving us their impression of Vegas casino imagery, the Chinese ought to look to their own heritage for some simple but striking graphic or geometric designs. A more sophisticated graphic or better-executed plain center on this 9-gram body would make an outstanding chip.

    These are NOT clay chips
    by paul @ 22, Dec 2004

    Price: 1/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 1/5

I recently went to AKKO who are the exclusive importers of these chips to get some samples. The feel of the chip is nicer compared to your abs 11.5 gram chips but these are far from being clay. The outer mold is a rougher type material to give that "clay" feeling. I was pretty disappointed when I used two pliers to snap open the inner side. They had a yellowish color plastic material with no metal insert. This wasnt clay at all. This is why you have that similar "clay" sound. I believe the chip is only 9 grams because its completely made of plastic and they couldnt make it weigh any higher. I know many of you bought these chips. Sorry you paid for it but just letting you know what I found out. Check it out for yourself by breaking open a chip. Remember these are made in China. Hardly any QC is done out there.

    Best value out there!
    by Royal @ 17, Dec 2004

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

These chips are sweet! They are lighter than most, but if you play at the casino often, these will make you feel right at home. They are much closer in weight and feel to real casino chips than other chips I've tried. Also, these are cheap!! Go to Ebay...I got 300 chips with case/cards for under $60. You can't beat that.

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

I really like these chips, except the donominations suck. I would really like to drop the 1 cent chips and pick up some 50's. Ive looked all over and cant find 50 cent denominations anywhere, if somebody knows where to find them please, please, please -e-mail me at sokkerkid13@yahoo.com

    are there different kinds?
    by Biff @ 08, Dec 2004

    Price: 3/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 2/5

I just got a set of these. The White chips have grey marks, not black like in the pictures. Also, arent they supposed to have rounded edges? Mine dont. The feel of them are better than the plastic 11.5g ones, but I think these chips are slightly bendable. All this makes me suspicious that maybe I got a knock-off or cheaper version of these chips. If anyone else has these chips, (the premium ones with the big sticker) please post.

    Great Clay Chips
    by JR @ 01, Dec 2004

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

I just received my set of Vegas Pro chips and I'm thoroughly impressed. I've researched almost every chip on the market and after weighing all the options I decided that I wanted a CLAY composite chip (1st thing I did when I got them was to break one in half to confirm the consistency of the chip and it is definetly clay) with cool graphics and a realistic weight. These chips meet and exceed all of these criteria. They have a great clay feel to them and their appearance is better than in the photos. I'm tired of hearing how chips need to be "heavier" in order for them to be good. Most of the Casinos around here have 9/10 gram chips so these feel just like them! I paid $80US including shipping for a set of 300 with a GOOD aluminum case and 2 decks with 5 dice. These chips are easy to shuffle and are relatively easy to do other tricks with as well. My only concern is the denominations(could not be changed)received aren't great for tournament play(100*$1 50*$5 50*$10 50*$25 50*$100

    9g Las Vegas Chip
by Tulsa Fire Captain @ 18, Nov 2004

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 4/5

If you are tired of the metal "clink" when you shuffle chips & splash the pot or after practicing chip tricks with the 11.5g resin chips then go to a brick & mortar casino with real 9g chips and stumble thru twirls and shuffles because they are diffrent, then these chips are for you! The only difference between these chips & chips I've brought home from casinos other than the REAL value is a slight texture difference (the casino chips are slightly rougher)and the edges on casino chips are slightly sharper. Their apperance is 2nd to none in this price range I paid $259 for 1500 CHIPS ONLY! On a Firemans salary I could not afford a set of Real Paulson chips these are close for a fraction of the $. Go to ebay and ask people to make you a deal on chips in large #s and then split them with your friends. Also when you are dragging 1500 chips around at 2.5g a chip difference = about a 4 lb savings. Oh yeah,I LOVE these chips!

    Nice Chips
    by Chad @ 30, Oct 2004

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

These are good poker chips. They are light at 9 grams, but real casino chips are 9 and 10 grams. The 11.5 grams chips to me look nice but sound too metallic with their ping when stacked and shuffled. Like the way these look and feel. Graphics are good, but can be peeled off if you really try. Good chips and you can find them for about 25 cents each if you look.

    9g Las Vegas
    by CLM @ 23, Oct 2004

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

I really like these chips. For the extra 50 or 60 bucks per set, you get a nicer feel, denominations, and awesome graphics. They are a little bit on the light side, but hey, you'll save on shipping ;).

9 Gram Clay Las Vegas Poker Chips
    by Eric @ 23, Oct 2004

    Price: 2/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 2/5

These 9 Gram Clay Las Vegas Poker Chips are somewhat expensive compared to other 9 gram poker chips. Part of the reason for the relatively high price is the fact that these are clay composite, not regular composite. Also, these chips have a fancy, detailed design. The Welcome Las Vegas and one armed bandit decorations are cool looking. The weight quality on these is poor in my opinion(not heavy enough). However, the fact that they are clay composite is good.

Our thoughts on the 9 Gram Clay Las Vegas Poker Chips

These chips look really cool but they are a little bit lighter than the chips I am used to handling. The Welcome to Las Vegas image on the 100 chip is really striking. These chips definitely look cool. However, if you are particular about the way chips feel for tricks than maybe these are not right for you. Even though the chip is a clay composite, most of the surface is covered by the slippery center fixture.

Here is what PokerNStuff says about these chips:
Want to add a little piece of Vegas in your home games. The illustration on these chips showcases, Welcome Las Vegas. These 2-tone colors quality Las Vegas poker chips are produced from Hi-grade pro clay composite resin material with rounder edges for superior texture. All chips have values on both sides. Improve your home games with these premier 9g pro clay casino size poker chips.

Price Comparisons for 9 Gram Clay Las Vegas Poker Chips

Last time I checked, these 9 Gram Clay Las Vegas Poker Chips were available in sets of 500 for under $124.95. That comes out to just over 24 cents per chip.

9 Gram Clay Las Vegas Poker Chips Appearance

The appearance of these chips is really striking. The Las Vegas elements are really nice.

9 Gram Clay Las Vegas Poker Chips Quality

I'm not crazy about the weight of these chips. 9 grams is a little bit too light for my personal taste. I'm sure there are folks out there who prefer the lighter chips but I like 11.5 grams or heavier.
