11.5 Gram Dice Poker Chips Reviews

    A Good Investment
    by SleepWalkers @ 21, Nov 2007

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

I've had a set of about 500 of these chips for almost 4 years now and I'm more than satisfied with their overall quality. If you have a set of plastic chips, you'll notice the difference in feel and weight immediately, especially if you are planning on using them for tricks. The market price is fair, and the design is nice as well. A good investment if you plan on buying your first chip set.

There are 2 versions of these chips. One is a Resin, the other is a Clay composite. the resin is hard and slick, the clay composite feels pretty close to a good clay chip. The Resin ones are around $40 for 500, the clay composites are a little more than twice that price.

    The ebay-wholesale factor
    by Hold'em Prodigy @ 17, Mar 2007

    Price: 3/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 3/5

Most things sold on ebay are cheap look alikes or products with impurities. The dice poker chips i bought probably could be considered THE LOOK ALIKES. I play with a set of five hudred at the dorms which feels like the clay composite, i'm not sure they are a buddies, mine feel lighter. The kind i just bought looks just like the dorm set, but sound, look and feel cheaper they fit the purpose just with a different feel. From what i have seen online, the good set might come with biyscle cards, mine came with the cheapest decks you could have. Also when u carry the case, the handle feels like it is about to pull of the bending aluminum. For PRICE AND PURPOSE NOT A BAD SET TO BEGIN WITH THOUGH. pokersuppliesco on ebay $30.00 no shipping b/c i lived close.

I really don't like these chips. The set I have has a *very* metallic sound to the chips. Once you handle or hear a higher quality set you'll never want to play with these again.

    Not that Bad

Good to use in a poker game, and not that bad in chip tricks. In fact, if you can do chip tricks with these, once you convert to something like paulsons you will look like a chip tricks pro. Good for the money, not that flashy apperance wise.

Bad Chips For Experienced Player, Good For Novice
    by 33DanTheMan33 @ 26, Feb 2006

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 2/5 Quality: 2/5

These are good for a first set. If you don't know any better, these are good chips. But if you have played in a casino, or with clay chips like Paulson, Modern Clay, or ASM chips, they will seem like terd chips. They stack horribly, are slippery, and are WAY common, so people could easily cheat and bring in their own chips to your game. They look boring, and are a low-quality. They sound very metallic. There really isn't anthing good to say about them except they are cost-effective and easily obtained. If you have never been exposed to high-quality chips, these will seem like nice chips to you.

My first set was dice chips
    by RussB42 @ 04, Feb 2006

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

I got mine from PokerShoppinng, with the 21 ACE discount.I have since bought another Different set from them. Great people to deal with. The chips I received are not shinny, slippery chips. They are somewhat dull in color, have a great feel, stack well and I am learning tricks with them. I like chips with denominations on them and use these to supplement my other sets when I run short. Black for Black $100 chips,Blue for Blue $50 chips and ect, that way we know what dollar amount they are. Most people appear to dislike these chips. I don't really see anything wrong with them. If I ever do buy another set they will be "HOT STAMPED" with $$ amounts. Makes all the difference in the world in appearance and satisfaction with the chips. Its all about what your happy with.

    Dice Review

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 2/5 Quality: 2/5

I have one of these sets, i hate it! they are very slippery and dont stack atall, and they sound really plastic and i dont really care for the looks either. as i said before i wouldnt throw these on my worst enemy. This is a great chip set if you 8 years old. The only thing thats good is the price, they are real cheap. The only reason i dont get it 1 for Appearence and Quality is cause i own an even worse set of chips not even worth mentioning.

    Not bad...
    by Hendu3270 @ 26, Aug 2005

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 3/5

These chips aren't bad. They're not like playing with Paulson chips or anything, but for the monthly game they are just fine. And the price is right!! 5StarDeal has them for just 9 cents apiece. They have a good feel, (a little slippery, but not too bad), and a good weight, (11.5 grams). The only thing I don't like is I wanted to expand my set of 600 chips and the green chips I ordered were considerably lighter than the others, (very annoying to me). The first set I bought in a store here in town and the add ons were on-line. Nice chip to start out on.

    Quality Can Differ
    by S @ 25, Aug 2005

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 2/5

I just bought an aluminum case of 1000 dice chips on eBay from DigiDepot. I've used dice chips before and like them, but these, while looking like the dice chips I've played with, do not feel like them at all. They feel cheaper and lighter. Still for 6.3 cents per chip, I can't complain.

    by Treb @ 14, Aug 2005

These chips are very nice for the what i paid for them. i bought two 500 chip sets in aluminium edged plastic carrying cases for $38.88 a piece (just under 13 cents a chip plus the very convenient cases) each set came with two decks of cards and dealer, small blind, and big blind buttons. I cut open the example chip, which was ziptied to the case so prospective buyers could feel them, and alas i found i nice metal insert(which others mentioned in their reviews) but regardlesss i like the weight, the feel, and the sound they make and are perfect for the weekly ring games i host. One thing i dont like are the dice on the outer ring of the chips face (considering i Play Hold'em and dont use dice) but the striped edges are a nice touh

    Cool and Cool
    by endeffects @ 08, Aug 2005

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 3/5

These all around chips are nifty but not super snazzy. I see em at games with friends and I've used them at an Omaha tournament. They're considered everyday fun to use chips, not like the plastic ones these chips have a nice case and a good feel to them. They're not too sticky and not too slick, IMO. If you're looking for an all around everyday chip that won't bust your wallet pick these up and give them a try. I did.

    Nice for casual games!
    by Lucky Luciano @ 04, Aug 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 3/5

Perhaps the most common chips for casual games. There are many different "versions" of these chips so quality may vary from one set to another. Still, IMO these chips are perfect for casual/occasional home players. Most "versions" are slippery (won't stack well)and clanky (metal insert) but durable low priced chips that should work fine for the biggener or occasional home player. There are better chips out there but "Dice, Suited..." chips are OK considering their low price.

    Price: 3/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 1/5

The price is ok but i hate the feel of the chips. They slide around too much. They dont stack well. and they have the worst metal plink on the market. Good for the casual player.

    Great for the price!
    by songfighter @ 11, Jul 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

I'm a casual gamer who was not really actively looking to upgrade from the 4.5g plastic chips I had. I found a set of five hundred of these 11.5g 'dice' with the trolley style, lockable aluminum case, two decks of cards, and set of red translucent dice. Also with the three position buttons. They look good, with no noticeable defects. In my case, there was no problem discerning between the blue and white as a couple earlier posters stated. Also, no problem with the reported slickness. I can easily grab handfuls and make a stack of fifty with no problem. All for $29.95 at Safeway, while I was doing a bit of grocery shopping. Can't beat that for value and convenience.

    great price
    by pedriq @ 01, Jul 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 2/5 Quality: 2/5

I just got a set of 300 (5 dice, 2 decks cards, aluminum case) for under $15. That's right, 15 dollars! I had been looking for cheap chips and ran across these on clearance at Kroger of all places. The color is sloppy on probably about 20% of the chips but that is no big deal for my purposes. I'm just tired of playing with pennies. I am more than happy with them for 5 cents/chip. I recommend looking till you find the deal you're happy with.

    Got rid of mine
    by wooskie @ 29, Jun 2005

    Price: 2/5 Appearance: 2/5 Quality: 2/5

These chips were my first attempt at buying chips. When I knew nothing about poker chips. I just wanted a nice looking set. I got ripped...When I opened them up and felt them, they did not feel like the real chips. They were slippery when you tried to manage them. They collapsed if you stacked them too high. I was very disappointed with them. I have recently gotten rid of mine and have purchased the Las Vegas pro 9 gram. I did a lot more research to get a quality chip similar to real casino chips, but for an affordable price. I found them on ebay 500 set for a great price. I do not recommend these chips at all.

    Dice Chips....Need I say more?
    by Stannic @ 22, Jun 2005

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 1/5 Quality: 2/5

I purchased these back in September of 2004. I got a set for $40 CDN. I thought "Hey wahat a deal". I started using them, and they're OK for the casual gamer but really, I have moved on. I just purchased the coin-inlay's, which are an OK chip. I would only recommend the Dice chips to people who are casual gamers and just want a better feel to their monthly poker game. I would also recommend that you don't pay more then 45$ (US) for them as they are in Canada for 40$ CDN (500 piece set with case cards and dice). Price: 4 - It's hard to beat it unless you buy the 7gm suited chips or plastic...but you get what you pay for. Appearance: 1 - Need I say more? They are UGLY Quality: 2 - Sounds like metal but anything is better then plastic.

I got these 11.5 gram dice poker chip set, and some of the chips felt different and lighter than others. seemed like some of them were clay composites instead of clay. My greens and whites were the ones that I could tell the most. I dont know whats goin on...

    There everywhere!!! =)
    by BostonPokerchips.com @ 31, May 2005

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 2/5 Quality: 1/5

Most people that are in the "know" when it comes to poker chips would easily dismiss these chips as cheap crap, when in reality most of us (Including myself) has owned a set in the past or have started with such a set. Basically an upgrade from the 4-8 gram sets that come with card games, but for the very casual user a much better game experience can be had using these chips. They have the weight and semi-looks of actual poker chips. In terms of quality, they are what they are, a composite material with a metal slug inside to create the weight. they are neither clay nor ceramic, which most quality chips are made out of. If you are looking for a cheap set just to have a round and do not play any regular card games these are a good intro for you, but know this, you will purchase better quality chips once you get a hold of them.

holy crap. i love these chips. theyre only the third set ive owned, and by far the best. i got them from wal mart for about $40 dollars. the set came with an aluminum case, 500 chips, 2 decks of Cardinal hold em poker cards, 5 dice, a dealer button, and big and small blind buttons. for 40 bucks, id say that this is a GREAT deal. again, wonderful chips.

    eBay = Very Good Chips
    by R. Heal @ 28, Apr 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 2/5 Quality: 5/5

I bought these exact same chips off some ebay seller for $41 ($.99 + $40 dollar shipping), and let me say i was very pleased. After reading the enormous amount of bad reviews, I was very hesitant to purchase these chips, especially since these were so cheap. My friend bought them at a store for $100!! When they arrived, i carefully inspected them for any imperfections at all. They were GREAT! Brand new, and worth the money. I can say two ways to weed out the bad chips many people try to sell. One, never, ever, but any dice chips set off ebay that is in a green felt case. They're cheap and worthless. Second, make sure the chips you order are wrapped in stacks of 25. It sounds silly, but many sets i have seen wrapped in stacks of 50 or 100 are of horrible quality. Hope i help someone!

    DICE,SUITED and Diamond
    by Palm Imports @ 24, Apr 2005

    Price: 2/5 Appearance: 2/5 Quality: 2/5

You may not know this-- but there are vast quality variations in the ABS chips-- the primary reasons are this: Molds are used to make these chips-- and theyre only good for so many chips before they need to be replaced. Most of the crappy chip manufacturers-- especially out of Ningbo China run the molds till theyre worn out. A good chip manufacturer replaces his molds-- which causes the chip price to be higher. Also, MOST cheap chips use recycled plastic-- you can see this in the poor color rendition of the chips. Weve seen many posts regarding chip colors. We only use raw NONRECYCLED plastic in our manufacturing process- and change molds frequently- but theres a price you pay for this. Thats why our chip set prices are a few bucks more then others. An ABS chip CAN be a great chip- if you get raw plastic chips and get chips where the molds are replaced. But-- there are better chips out there-- the market is flooded with these chips-- prices are at their lowest Joe

I sold my set of 650 hot stamped chips like these. This chip is similar to most of what's out there in this type, only the designs are different. If you are considering buying any of these, DON'T. ABS is ABS: hard and slick. The metal insert in these chips make them sound like coins, which annoyed the hell out of me. Made me feel like I was playing with toys. To give an honest rating on appearance, price and quality, I'd have to give them a 5 all around because they are cheap, they are made well (for ABS) and mine looked nice. BUT, since they are merely "pretender" chips and nothing like clay composites, I am going to give them LOW ratings. Do yourself a favor, spend a little more and get something better. I have the "las vegas" design 9gm clay composites. Not Paulsons to be sure, but so much better than the ABS chips out there. I'd rather my 9gm's over 11.5 gm's of CRAP any day. Read my posting on the Las Vegas 9gm's. They are actually better than I rated them.

the good set info... case had rounded edges, inside the case, there was a grey sponge material, the crap case had a black felt.... the cases come and the chips are wrapped in plastic, the good ones were in stacks of 25. the bad were in stacks of 50. and my good ones came with dice, cards, keys just like the bad ones did....BUT the good case came without a dealer button.

    good or bad quality
    by maxinmontreal @ 28, Feb 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 3/5

Hey guys, i ended up buying 3 cases of chips, 2 sets of 500, and a set of 1000. one set of 500 from one guy, and the 1000, and another 500 from another guy. 1 case had rounded edges, and the other 500, and 1000 had just normal corners. I hosted a tournament and used all the chips. At the end of the night all wre mixed, and i started putting them away. I soon noticed that there were at least 2 different shades of red. I figured out that the lighter ones went into the 500, ont with the 1500. Then i also noticed there was a difference in feel, color and...quality. the quality was my biggest issue. The good ones were more...sandy? more dull, and each chip was perfect. the bad ones had lots of imperfections and were very shiny. there is no way of knowing this. If i had to do it again, i would specifically ask the sellers, if they are in an aluminum case with rounded edges or square edges. the picture on the site where i got the bad chips had a rounded case also, but sent a sqare one

    Clay?
    by Greeniron @ 08, Feb 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 4/5

Hey "Clay" purists, poker chips have not been made of real clay since the 1800's. All modern casino chips are made from a composit resin. I have had a "real clay" set of chips for over ten years, but when I needed to expand the set, I found the company had gone out of buisness that made my chips. I decided to try the metal inlay dice set and they are great! Yes, they have a more metalic sound, but I like the heavier feel (11.5 grams vs 9 from "clay"). They were a little more slippery at first, but through use, that has gone away. I have had the dice chips for about a year and a half and wouldn't go back to "real clay".

Im currently looking on ebay for a set of 500 or 600 11.5g dice chips. The problem is that I dobt want to end up getting some cheap ass metal chip with a painted on design. I dont know much about chips,so how are you suppose to know which dice sets are the *ty ones and which ones are the decent ones? ON ebay there is a ebay poker store called "pokerchipdepot". Does anyone know what these chips are like?

    What is everyone complaining about?!!!

I have had these chips for just over a month now.. 1000 of them for 100 bucks! You can't get any better than that. I don't care if they aren't real clay. Anything is better than the bicycle plastic chips. I've been doing flourishes with these chips for a long while now and the more flourishes you do... the more like clay they feel. Stop complaining and just play!

    One More Thing
    by R Morialli @ 16, Jan 2005

    Price: 1/5 Appearance: 2/5 Quality: 1/5

Just one more thing......everybody keeps saying that they are a bit slippery.......no kidding......they're fake if they are slippery. My set is far from slippery. As a matter of fact, they are actually hard to skid across themselves, they are kind of "grippy".....which is exactly how a real clay chip responds. The surface of a clay chip is slightly rough so they don't slide around and they stay stacked nicely. Chip tricks with a clay chip are much harder to do because of that rough texture, so don't expect to go to a casino and dazzle the patrons with your tricks if you have the look alike chips........you will just embarrass yourself. STOP BEING SO GULLABLE AND SO CHEAP!!

    I have read enough!

You people are NOT getting the clay chips you think you are buying. I have the REAL clay chips like these, and you cannot get them for $45 per 500 including shipping.....not even close.....such trusting people around here. Shipping alone cost at least $20 per 500, so YOU figure out how much you paid for each chip......STILL think they are CLAY? Ebay has BOTH kinds of chips for sale, and they look exactly alike EXCEPT for the fact that the cheap metal or ABS plastic chips are painted (clay chips have the color baked into them), and are flawed like a factory second (clay chips are usually perfect because the clay chip factories have good quality control), and the quality control is non-existant on these cheap look alikes. I guarantee you that this site is NOT promoting the look alikes....they are promoting REAL CLAY CHIPS. There is absolutely NO mistaking the sound and feel and look of a real clay chip, so don't be so cheap, and buy the real ones for about $100 per 500 with Oak Case.

Bought these from ebay. 650 with case dice cards for 45 this includes shipping. So a good deal yes, but not sure on quality after reading these reviews (have not receievd my order yet, UPS has it now) I just discovered this site now. I wish it was before, would have bought the diamonds instead.

I received a 500 chip set of the dice chips as a gift. They are very nice. I was surprised when I played at a friend's because his set of dice chips (same design) were not made of the same material. Mine do not slip easily and have a nice sound to them, whereas my friend's set are obviously plastic with metal inserts (I think mine are composite/resin). So, be careful what you buy off eBay. If anyone has more info on this matter, please let me know.

    Striped Dice Casino Chips
by Brad from SO. ILL. @ 22, Dec 2004

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 4/5

Just got these chips today, had ordered off ebay. First off, correct, they aren't clay. One of my whites has a side that the outer lay came off, and it's some sort of medal coated in some kind of material, not sure what. Um, I've not had any problems getting the whites and blues confused because the stripes are small enough that they are easier to tell the difference between. But I will say, almost ALL of my whites are horrible. The coloring on them isn't good at all. They basically look like a 6 year old kid painted them, if you can understand what I'm saying. They "colored outside of the lines" everywhere. And some spots, the blue is showing the white through from behind it. But other than that, I love the blues, greens, reds, and blacks. I think I am going to buy 50 blues to replace the 50 worst of my whites. Other than that, I love the weight and the style of these chips. They have a very clean, basic look. Paid $63 for 500 count w/ caseon ebay after shipping.

I like these chips for the price. The design isn't that bad either. I played with these chips yesterday, and I think I will get a set of these. They dont sound that great though, so quality is a little bit low. Overall I think these are a good chip for the price.

i was browsing websites to buy poker chips and i encountered one where they talked about these dice chips. Their reason for not saying these chips were clay composites were because theyre not...They asked the company that makes these chips and said these chips have no clay wutsoever!!! Price is very good, u can get a set of 1000 of these chips for 134.00$ but theyre not clay composite MY RATINGS ARE BASED ON FALSO ADVERTISEMENT

    Not bad at all
    by lunaraetic @ 07, Nov 2004

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 4/5

Got these chips recently.. grip isnt bad for a composite chip. Of course clay chips would be ideal, but with the price and variety, you cant go wrong. Got 500 for 60 bucks altogther. so about 40 for the chips, 20 for shipping. They have some funky colors too, so if you are tired of black, white and blue, there are new colors out. Pink, Dark grey (looks too much like black though) yellow, and light blue. Overall, a good chip for a good price.

These are some pretty nice chips. Not too fancy but nice enough to impress some of your friends and give a semi-professional look. They are a little slippery but overall they are a great chip. I picked up a set of 1000 for ~$150 off Ebay.

These chips are OK, but if you do buy them do NOT get blue and white in the same set! When you stack them up and look at them from the side it is hard to tell if there are blue or white chips mixed together. I would reccomend black, green, red, and white. They are a little slick and heavy too. You have also heard people say they make a metal "CLINK" when you hit them together. They are also a little larger and heavier than Vegas chips which I prefer. I put denomation $1, $5, $25, $100 stickers on both sides and it toned them down a little and they have a little texture now. Great starter chips and blows the old plastic chips away! Good Luck

Terrific price for such nice chips! THe only thing I don't like is that they can sometimes be rather slippery. Its often hard to do chip tricks at first, but when you get used to these, they're great!

I bought a set fo the 11.5 gram dice design chip set and theyre pretty nice for home use. I won many times in hold em but of cource Ive lost as well...These chips I can practice my chip tricks as well. I recently bought a set of 10.5 gram clay chips and they are pretty sweet. When I compare the two sounds of chips (11.5 gram versus 10.5 gram) the 10.5 gram clay chips sound very nice and dont have that high pitched 'ting' sound. Everyone sells the 11.5 gram chip set but check out http://www.discountpokershop.com for the 10.5 gram clay chip.

This is a solid chip. It's cheap, it looks good, and it works well for live games. I like the smooth, slippery texture of these chips, but I think they are a bit on the heavy side. The price is just right for someone hosting a friendly home game.

I personally love the look of these style chips as well as many of the other molded metal insert chips. I do not like the sound they make when dropped on the table or splashing the pot. They seem to be a good quality chip and I imagine that they will last a long time. I think that 10 cents / chip would be a fair price.

    by Toe Jam @ 30, Aug 2004

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 3/5

This is one of my favorite styles. Most of the 11.5g composites all feel and weigh the same so its a matter of looks on the 11.5's. I am a collector of dice so these spark my interest. The graphic dosent take up to much of the chip so its not cluttered. With that being said, this is actually my #2 pick for graphic. I have several samples and have been able to handle alot of different chips. There is nothing to suggest these arent good quality chips. Dirt cheap!

A few of my friends have these chips......one of them sells sets to people.....i guess he has lots of them but they are pretty nice....kinda slippery at first but once they're broken in a little they aren't as slippery. I have these same chips but without the coating and coloring...just the basic chip. I like them.

I personally went to the local gambling store and played around with all the chips featured, they all fell about the same. Exception of the 13g chip, it's basically what look you like the most. I personally have a set of Royal Suited (not pictured), but it is basically the same chip as the suited just a little more of a design, over all for the price at $0.19 a chip or so they are pretty good.

I like the look of these dice poker chips. Even though I'm not a big craps player there is something cool about the way they incorporated the dice element into the chips. The relative price is pretty good(I've seen chips that are more expensive than 16 cents per). The quality is pretty good compared to some of the other chips out there. I like the feel of these 11.5 gram chips.
