    Paulson = Quality
    by 33DanTheMan33 @ 26, Feb 2006

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

Go into 3 out of 4 casinos in Vegas or Atlantic City or Reno and you will find that they are using Paulson Chips. That should already show you how great they are. Great sound, quality, and looks. Very expensive, but well worth it. If you want chips almost exactly like the casinos use, go Paulson.

    Best chips ever!
    by sumsh @ 04, Jan 2006

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

Like most other poker players, my first set of chips were the cheap composite, metal-center chips that don't stack to save your life. After a while, I wanted a better set, so I looked on eBay for "real clay" chips, and ended up getting another piece of crap set. I finally decided that the next set I bought would be a nice, expensive set. I spent a lot of time ordering samples of the best chips out there, and finally went with a set of Paulson James Bonds. I can say without a doubt that these were the best chips of all the samples I ordered, and now that I have a full set, I do not regret it at all. I bought a 300-chip set from Spinettis. They have great deals on these chips if you buy a set with a case and use the "21Ace" coupon code (you can choose the chip breakdown). I ended up spending less than $1 per chip. They look great, sound great, stack great, and play great. What more could you ask for?

    Updated Review

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

I reviewed these below, but didn't assign a quality rating. Since the earlier review, I've received several samples, to include the Paulson Pharaohs. I still think the JB 2005s are the best of the best. The Pharaohs are great chips, of course, but I think the JBs have them beat in appearance. IMHO, they look more like a classic casino chip and the denominations seem to stand out better than the ones on the Pharaohs. Just my 2-cents.

Theese are witout a doubt the best chips ivé held in my hands, exelent for chip tricks, the sound is amazing and the quality i top notch. wear and tear is minimal or none no matter how you treat them (and with that i mean normal poker play or chip tricks) The only thing to complain about is the price, its outrageous, but the agin i beleve if you buy a set they last a lifetime

    Great Chips, Worth Cost
    by checkm8r @ 04, Sep 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality:N/A

I just picked up a 600 piece set of these and I'm very pleased with them from all aspects (looks, feel, sound, stacking). I had ordered samples of these as well as the Paulson Pharaohs. I picked the JB 2005s over the Pharaohs as I like their label design better. I didn't notice any difference in the other areas (feel/sound/stacking). Acquired 150 White, 150 Red, 150 Green, 100 Black, 50 Purple. Will probably go back and get 50 more Red, 50 more Green, and perhaps 25 Yellow.

    Great chips!!
    by stinger11723 @ 31, Jul 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

I got a sample set of these and can tell why they are so well liked. The sound and feel is amazing! I got a set of those hard plastic types on ebay last year when I decided to start playing poker with the guys. I thought those were nice until I started reading on the internet about real quality chips. So I started getting samples of better chips. These were the first ones I got so I have ruined myself on the others. Since my set is a sample, I was shuffling them together and the colors started rubbing off on one another. That, and the high price, are the only drawbacks to these chips. The sound of these chips is soothing to the ears. They feel heavier than they are and they stacked extremely well. If you can afford these bad boys, then they will impress everyone at your game. I showed them to some guys I play with and they didn't think they would care about chips they were using until they felt and heard these on the table!

    Nice JB's
    by Bevesocth @ 25, Jul 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality:N/A

Just got my secound set of ten jb's, first 10x500s now 10x100s. And they are way awesome. They stack well, they sound good, and are very grippy and nice. The edges are fairly sharp to begin with, so they are sort of hard to shuffle at first, but after an hour or two the edges are rounded and they shuffle really well. The texture is kind of rough around the edges and slippery in the middle, thus they stack as tall as you'd want 'em no problem. Like building forts out of your chips? these are up for it. Like doing tricks and stuff with your chips? excellent texture and perfect weight makes these chips the only natural choice ;) They sound awesome too, it's not like cheap plastics, these really sound like proper poker chips should sound when splashed. The only drawback, if you can call it that, is looks. They don't look very flash, and not all the inserts are perfectly centered. The colours can take time to get used to, but once you are, you'll never know what you think looked bad :)

    Fantastic
    by Eddy @ 29, Jun 2005

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

Got a set of these from www.apachepokerchips.com and couldn't be happier! They are fantastic! There is no size variation (either in diameter or thickeness) between the various denominations, and the sound and feel of them is just absolutely top-notch! There is an old saying... "price is only an issue in the absence of value"... and I'd say that applies here! You definitely get what you pay for you!

    Great Chips
    by tess @ 27, Jun 2005

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

I just got some Paulson chips, and used them in my home game. Everyone asked where i got the new chips. They really are the best chips on the market. The Colors are great, and they have an awesome sound when splashing the pot. They can be stacked pretty high without them exploding all over the place. The real problem i see is the price. They are very pricey! Overall though for the quality of chip you receive these are the best choice out there. A+

These chips are amazing. The look, the feel, the smell....well maybe too far, but these chips rock. The only downside is the price, but relatively, i feel it is well worth it if you are really into poker and want to play with the best.

    Paulson Chip Review
    by Eric @ 07, Jun 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

Paulson Chips are the standard by which other chips are judged. The pictures do not do them justice. Once you’ve used Paulson Chips in casinos and then in home games the other chips do not measure up. Normally I wouldn’t give such an expensive chip a 5 in the price ratings but Paulson Chips are so good that they are absolutely worth every penny of the extra price. At a glance the Paulson Chips look good but when you look closer the highlights of the appearance come out. The signature Cane and Hat on the edge of each Paulson Chip is a detail that sets them apart. The quality on the Paulson Chips is remarkable. They don’t make a loud sound the way the metal insert chips do when they clank together. Poker chip tricks come easier with Paulson Chips, they do not slip out of your fingers like other chips. If you handle poker chips a lot and you have the money then Paulson Chips are the right choice.

    good feel
    by Mikie2187 @ 26, May 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 4/5 Quality: 5/5

I didn't like the look of the chips at first but the feel really grew on me. I didn't realize how sick I was of playing with cheap composite chips that slide all over the place. These quality real through and through clay chips stack nicely and STAY in position. Sweet chips. Very satisfied. It makes me ill to play with plastic or clay composite chips from now on.

    I own 700 Paulsons
    by Thatoneguy @ 19, May 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

These chips are so worth the money that you shouldn't think twice about getting them. Everyone who sits down at my table is stunned at the quality of these chips, and I get tons of compliments on them. The do a bunch of things that lesser quality chips don't do - many chip tricks are made easier with these. You can stack them as high as you like, they won't fall. They look like candy, feel like a million bucks. Best chips ever.

    Paulson Chips-- coming back!
    by Palm Imports @ 24, Apr 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

Personally-- we LOVE Paulson chips-- and we're thrilled we're gonna be one of the few distributors for em when they return soon. Whats even better is this-- we can CUSTOM print these using your images-- this is gonna be a winner in our opinion-- but-- the pricing of these chips is STILL a bit more then we want to see-- it would be great to have these for around .55 - .75 cents ea-- it would make them more affordable for alot more people. Joe

Great feeling - so so looks
    by Tuna Delight @ 19, Apr 2005

    Price: 4/5 Appearance: 3/5 Quality: 5/5

These are definitely the best feeling and sounding chips that I've seen! They're closer to actual casino clay chips than other great home-use chips that I've checked out - Nevada Jacks Clays, Archetypes (Buypokerchips.com), and the clay chips used in the movie Rounders (Pokerchips.com). I have a problem with their look on an individual basis though. The edge mark colors are too dayglow bright and/or conflicting with the main chip color on several of them. And the center artwork is just plain boring! However, that said, I can see how their individual visual flaws could be diminished when you're playing with stacks of them though. In summary - a truly fantastic feeling (and sounding) clay chip with visual shortcomings, but they still look a lot better than many of the fugly chips you'll see on TV poker tournaments!

    Paulson Home Chips
    by Pot Hiker @ 31, Mar 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

Fear not in getting these chips. I have compared them with most of the other chips on the market, and in my opinion nothing is better. I had Nevada Jacks clays before and was always bothered by the off centered center labels, and other inconsistencies. Now, as far as the controversial matters, namely the smoothness of the center and the smaller center graphic, I think it is a question of taste. Personally, I prefer it. The smooth center, which includes the center clay, give a nice contrast from the outer rim. It is different from any other clay chip My friends also liked it. As far as the graphic, the effect is that you see more of the color of the chip, as oppossed to a ton of white on the top. Again, I prefer the look. I also really like the color scheme, which is brighter than most. Bottom line, I love my set of 600 chips, and all of my friends are jeleous. In fact, they prefer to come to my house just to use the chips. They were suprized when I told them what I paid.

    Paulsons JB Chips
    by Meyers Parrot @ 28, Mar 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality: 5/5

I took advantage of a pre-sale special from Dice702 in January and ordered 2000 of these chips based on just the reputation alone. I was not disappointed. Some people complain about the tacky "Paulson" mold or the shiny plasticky inlay, but nothing beats seeing a huge stack of these chips in person, and then handling them. I also have a 1000 of the 11.5 dice chips and of course there is no comparison (at about 20x the price, too!). I don't have any experience with the other "high end chips", but these Paulsons feel like REAL casino chips.

Satisfied with the new James Bond Paulsons
    by Brad @ 26, Mar 2005

    Price: 5/5 Appearance: 5/5 Quality:N/A

I was seeking chips that look authentic and have a quality sound and feel to them. I have not been disappointed with these. They stack easily, have sharp edges when brand-new and are well made. The bright orange $1000 chips were too bright for me so I settled on ones, fives and twenty fives. The chips have sharply defined contrasting colors and a smallish label with a classy low-key design. They are traditional looking chips I suspect will still be very acceptable after other more modern designs have become dated.

Deakon's thoughts on the James Bond Paulson Poker Chips

As soon as I dumped these chips from their envelope I knew why these chips were so eagerly anticipated. They are stunning, but of course, they are Paulsons.

Paulson's are not cheap but the quality is unbeatable. Many people upgrade to Paulson after being unhappy with the cheaper sets.

James Bond Paulson Poker Chips Appearance described by Deakon

The edge spots on the chips are very well matched with the individual chip base color. The only chip I may not favor too much is the $1000 chip; it seems just a bit brighter in comparison to the other chips. There has been a lot of discussion about the inlay issue; the chip mold is designed for a grand-style inla
