chiptrick77, I'm glad to see you're interested. Hopefully we can have this be the biggest contest yet. It would be nice to start off the new year with a big contest and lots of new videos for us to enjoy.

Hey guess what! I think that the family digital camera had the ability to record video and take pictures! I'll go check it out later and if it does have the ability to record I will probably enter.

This is looking good so far!
We already have interest from the following people:
chiptrick77
TooPoorForChips
SleepWalkers
Bennie90
BaZ
marpenothi
XCM
turykesub
If we can get about 6 more people then we'll set dates.
I think we should keep chips and cards separate again.
Do you guys plan on sending in chip vids, card vids or both?

We just made it a whole lot easier to submit videos Shadow convinced me to add the attachment mod to the forum. This means you can upload videos in your posts.
Guidelines are on the http://www.21ace.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=241 page.
Hopefully everyone can start uploading practice videos now so that when we start the contest everyone will be used to uploading attachments through their posts.

We can move the date up if that is what the majority wants.
I'm kind of axious to see what everybody has been up to.
Now that vids can be uploaded to the forum it should be super easy for people to enter. I think the file size was changed so that we can accept videos up to 5MB.

Yes, the file size can be bigger if you host it yourself. However, we changed the forum to allow uploads up to 5MB so we can get some good sized ones here too.
Maybe we should keep the original deadline of Feb 28 to give everyone time to get organized.
While we are waiting we could have a smaller bonus contest with a deadline of Feb 10 or something. For the bonus contest we could do it all in one thread. We could have people upload in the thread and then we could have a poll to help with the voting.
Let me know what you guys think.

It's a pity. But there must be time limit. Judges always watch the videos many times. This way I'm able to see the mistakes and compare the videos better. And if the videos are too long it takes too much time to judge the videos.

As for the actual show "time" I can do about 8 minutes worth of amazement with XCM Demo from De'vo and Cradle To Grave demo.
Lots of variety and cool stuff.
|
Well, Dude, I have seen your video and you definately have some good hands!! I would really like to see something like that one day. Let us know if you ever make a vid like that!!
 |
 |
De'vo said he used to put on shows about an hour long! Or even more!
Those are his advanced demos but they probably wont be out anytime soon lol. |
Yeah, when I used to go to the HL forum he claimed more like 2 hours for his shows.
#1 Try to find out where one of his shows are (so you can see it for yourself)...you will get no reply.
#2 Try to find anyone who actually does flourishes for a living...you will find no-one.
Conclusion....There is no such thing as a PRO flourisher that makes a living at it and I believe about 14% of what De says.
Anyway....get that video made, Dude!!!

I beg to differ...
Tudor can put on a show for 7 minutes...hell he can probably put one for 15 or more lol...But he also put...............people to sleep in about 2 minutes....so I'd save the compensation. Tudor is kickass at sybils....but I say he should stick to the lightning fast sybils only for his sybil work...he does everything so fast....I mean everything.....even color changes or w/e other magic that people do that shouldn't be done fast in the first place...
I was drooling after 2 minutes of watching because stuff that goes fast ESPECIALLY sybil for over 1 minute can look repetative and flat out boring.
Anyways...
As for the actual show "time" I can do about 8 minutes worth of amazement with XCM Demo from De'vo and Cradle To Grave demo.
Lots of variety and cool stuff.
But im not bragging, im just saying it's not as hard as it sounds providing you dont go like a damn roadrunner....but not as slow as a turtle. Although speed doesnt really matter what really matters is the ability to keep people interested and present things right, no matter how many minutes it is they will probably remember it forever.
De'vo said he used to put on shows about an hour long! Or even more!
Those are his advanced demos but they probably wont be out anytime soon lol.
Peace |
I totally forgot that you were a part of that whole card gang and neglected you as part of the community. Sorry I forgot....I would definitely watch you for 7 minutes or more

This is something I put together today instead of doing history homework =[
Documentation:
Pure stacks of 10 shuffle
I would have liked to make it longer, but I don't have the software to make the filesize smaller. And yes, the music was done the ghetto way due to lack of software.

Nice chip shuffling. Way better and more consistent than I can do. I am only consistent with 7 or 8 in each stack but that many times in a row with 10s...pretty impressive. Keep up the good work

Looked pretty good dude. I would just say to try to slow down on the cuts at the beginning (the tudor sybil like moves) and try to smooth them out.
The dual one handed shuffle definately needs to be slower and smoother.
The fans and springs were nice....and good speed on the L cuts.
Try to build that pyramid at the end quicker!
Nice job man!

Chipmaster i know what you mean. When you screw up in front of the camera or get nervous over and over
thats what happens.
I should of slowed down on cuts just trying to do some false stuff lol
Also if i had a cameraman or a better angle stuff would of definetely been nicer.

Ok here are the results. This time there weren't so many videos but it was qutie hard to rate them because they were all really good. We are also thinking about having separate contests for card magic and card flourishes next time.
Chip contest:
The winner is Twirlmasterflex.
Card contest:
The winner is turkeysub.
Congratulations and thanks to all who send their videos.
